Skip Brooks who is a long time member of our little music scene has unfortunately received devastating news, that he has stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma. On top of the cancer treatments, he is having to deal with heart related issues as well. A bright spot in this story is that the Doctors believe he can make a full recovery after the surgeries and cancer treatments. As you may know hospital visits, treatments, dr visits, surgeries, etc are not cheap in any way. Nomis‘ new album Rhodes to Rome released today, an eleven track project which blends contemplative lyrics with mellow hip-hop stylings. You can find it on Bandcamp, Spotify, and iTunes. “Theory of Self (feat. Joe Ayinde),” one of the album’s singles, can be heard below. Haiva ru is a new indie rock band from Santa Barbara, CA featuring vocalist Allie Merrill. If that name sounds familiar it might be because of her work with Isla Vista Worship or her solo worship project under the name Allie Paige.
