Song of the Day: AJ Mora - NeonSoul (exclusive track!)

By in Song of The Day | No Comments

AJ Mora is a Los Angeles-based DJ, producer, and remixer with 40 years in the house and dance music scene. He first hit the Christian scene in 1996 with his debut album Transformed (N-Soul Records), right at the peak of the Christian electronica scene. However, Mora had been DJing for several years prior.

His 1992 track “Jump Everybody” with The Movement reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. He went on to release a whole slew of singles throughout the end of the 90s and into the 2000s. He also released a couple more full-length albums.

Of course, being in the field of electronic dance music is more than just about recordings. DJing and live performing is at least equally as important, if not more than the recorded format. As of 2026, Mora is celebrating his final year of professional DJing as an artist. He works as a hospice chaplain (ministry to those in the final stages of their healthcare), and is also writing a memoir about his life behind the decks and in ministry. He is an Eastern Orthodox Christian and has been releasing original and reworked tracks throughout his career.

For our Song of the Day today, we have a real treat. AJ Mora was kind enough to share with Indie Vision Music a brand-new unreleased track. He had this to say about it: “‘NeonSoul’ is a little more abstract; We are to be like light (NeonSouls) in the world. Through Christ in us we shine His goodness. My Funky Soul may struggle, but beacuse of His great love and mercy, we have Hope. The struggle is the living proof of transformartion. Lord have mercy.”

And what’s more, Mora has made the brand-new, as-yet-unreleased track available as a free download for IVM readers. Check out the track here: NeonSoul
