Song of the Day: No Innocent Victim - Strength

Emerging from the original wave of Spirit Filled Hardcore (or SFHC) came southern California’s No Innocent Victim, AKA N.I.V. In contrast to their SFHC peers like Unashamed, Strongarm, and Overcome, who often integrated metallic influences that were becoming more popular in hardcore, NIV stuck to their old school roots with a “Loud Fast Rules” mentality. In fact, their old school approach to fast and heavy hardcore played a part in sparking a revival of the style, which eventually evolved into “tough guy hardcore,” essentially an update of that old school sound with added breakdowns and heaviness.… Continued →

INTERVIEW : Garrett Gutierrez of Rapture

On Tuesday night, I interviewed Garrett of the spirit filled hardcore band Rapture, from Los Angeles, California. To Live As Sons release New Song "Get the Horizon"

To Live As Sons, the new spirit filled hardcore band from Pennsylvania, has announced a new track titled “Get the Horizon” being released on Friends Volume 3. LIV. Come out of Hiatus

The Christian hardcore/punk band LIV. announced that they have come back from hiatus. LIV. formed in December 2012 with members Matthew Salamante (Vocals), Jason Diaz (Bass), Ace Esguerra (Guitars), and Tony Esquivel (Drums). The band has released an album in 2015 via the Christian hardcore label On The Attack! Records, home to Dangerous Minds, Spirit and the Bride, and Rapture. The band’s name stands for Liv’in in Victory. The band’s debut album can be listened to below. Check it out!

5 Christian Metal/Hardcore Bands That You May Not Have Heard Of

These are some bands that were sort of popular, but didn’t get very far. Hopefully this sheds some light to the underground SFHC Scene or more appropriately, SFMC Scene. 5. One Way/Raid Christian metalcore/hardcore One Way formed in… I don’t know when. The 80’s. The band did not have very much success or really any publications. Other than one in HM in 1991.
