This unique father and son duo known collectively as "Willis & Son", just released their debut self titled album back at the end of May. The project features Glenn Wiley Willis of October Bird of Death, 2Minute Minor, xRedlinex, and The Blamed alongside his father Mike Willis. Other family members and friends contributed to the recording and recording/production was handled by the very talented Captive Portal Studio. The album is a very low key, laid back collection of songs that serves up a sunny disposition and hopeful yearning. It's like the perfect soundtrack for summer and those nightly campfires set up upon a sandy, beachside locale. There is plenty to enjoy in these simple yet profound songs. Stories about love, hope, understanding, and seeking answers in the dark with a certain youthful exuberance not broken by the daily cynicism that takes hold of our little music scene at times. The joining of two generations through the road weary eyes of two like minded travelers seeking truth in a world gone dark. Sam's The Hero have just dropped their incredible brand new song titled "In The Absence of Applause" through Small Step Records and it's available through all digital networks. This song is filled with big choruses, loads of those classic pop-punk harmonies the scene has become world renowned for, and some of the most uplifting lyrics I've heard recently. It's really exciting to find a band like Sam's The Hero still carrying the flag of Christian pop punk, proudly presenting honest, hopeful, and outstanding songs in the midst of such profound darkness in our world. These guys are the perfect combination of classic sounds found in groups like Fenix Tx, Home Grown, Blink-182, Autopilot Off, Yellowcard, Olivia The Band, Sick of Change and the lyrical output of individuals and groups like Reese Roper (Five Iron Frenzy/Brave Saint Saturn), Josh Kemble (Dogwood), Ghoti Hook, Hangnail, Slick Shoes, Watashi Wa, early Plankeye etc. Just a plain great summer jam with a deep heart tugging anthem of nostalgia and grace. Highly recommended and a solid 5 out of 5 from Brandon Jones/IVM.

This pop rock/hip hop artist has been making a lot of waves lately with his personal stance on this years (2025) Dove Awards. I personally like some of his music and this song is one that I’ve heard many people love. Almost everyone who listens to contemporary Christian music that I have met over the past few years really dig his stuff so much that it’s no wonder he’s so popular. Grace Graber has been grabbing headlines lately with her spirited take on pop-punk and mid 00’s emo tunes that bring a fresh look at nostalgic yearning toward yesteryear. She has a unique take on pop music and a voice built perfect for her guitar centric sound. Smith, is someone who has been making engaging, more often than not “catchy”, “addictively appealing”, “hopeful”, “spiritually connective”, pop rock tunes for 4 decades now, returns with yet another catchy song perfect for right now. I have some exciting news. Two different labels are releasing Watashi Wa and Lakes vinyl. Lakes if you were unaware, was the band that continued on the Watashi Wa legacy after they first broke up including lead vocalist Seth Roberts. Lakes released an EP in 2005 called “Photographs” that dropped in The Militia Group originally. The re-release is being put out by Sing Along Records right here (while you’re there make sure to check out the Long Since Forgotten vinyl). B is Bridgie has just dropped a really fun punk rock with pop flair to it. Imagine Yeah Yeah Yeahs meets Letters to Cleo meets Sixpence None The Richer meets Pat Benatar and Joan Jett. The guitars are great and have a certain crunch to them mixed with Kim’s otherworldly and gentle sounding vocals but delivering enough punch to keep it all interesting. Anberlin have just announced a very special tour commemorating 20 years of “Never Take Friendship Personal” this summer beginning July 31st in Jacksonville, FL. and wrapping up on August 17th in Indianapolis, with The Almost and Watashi Wa! Today’s Song of The Day comes from a band called “Capital Lights”, which are little heard of this day and age and whose last album released all the way back in 2012. That was 12 years ago, can you believe it? This band released 2 fantastic albums. While some people didn’t find as much enjoyment in the last album (final?), I certainly did. One of the highlights (there are plenty) for me off that record was “Honey Don’t Jump”. for KING & COUNTRY have just released their version of the Stryper classic “To Hell With The Devil” featuring both Lecrae and the legends themselves, Stryper. The song will appear on the soundtrack for “Unsung Hero” a film being produced on behalf of for KING & COUNTRY and Kingdom Story Company. Okay, Mylon LeFevre is a stretch for inclusion on Indie Vision Music. But hear me out. He wrote a hit song for Elvis Presley in 1964, “Without Him” for the king’s Gospel album How Great Thou Art. He was only 17 when he wrong the song (in 20 minutes according to the songwriter), and was paid $90,000 for it. He walked out with a paper bag full of cash and bought his first car, a Corvette.
