So, 2018 is behind us, another year on the books. After having put together a list of my favorite releases for the year, I decided to try going in the opposite direction and form a list of the albums I’m anticipating most in the coming year. Now, a bit of a heads up before we dig in; I am almost certainly missing some albums here. Some may have escaped my attention, and I’m sure there are more to be announced yet as well. Love & Death, the nu-metal band, have finally started working on new music. And just as I discovered that J.R. Bareis has left Islander, alongside the other two non-original members of Islander, they have begun guitar tracking with ex-Red, current Breaking Benjamin guitarist Jasen Rauch. The band currently consists of Brian Welch on vocals, J.R. on guitars and Dan Johnson on drums. Bassist Michael Valentine departed last year, without any official reason. Bareis and Rauch have begun recording guitars for the album. … Continued →

I didn’t really know what to expect tonight as I drove down to Barnegat, NJ to see Love and Death for the first time. Being a church show (which I tend to enjoy more than others), I had a few preconceived ideas as to what I could expect at the venue. Well, all my expectations went right out the window as I pulled up to the church.
