Shane, why must you create such fresh, relevant, heart wrenching new music? This song literally grabs you by the throat and well, releases a flood of all the best emotions. In reality, this song does anything but “Choke” you but it does grip you with a collection of notes and music performed by a talented ensemble of well seasoned musicians. I’d like to a take a moment and introduce you all to a new band by the name of Bares His Teeth. They are a post-hardcore/emo/indie rock band that really amplify the “rock” element and are here to present some super cool music (that will blow your mind, significantly). The band features some members who have played in bands like Dead To Fall, Eso-Charis, Living Sacrifice, Lovedrug, Norma Jean, NTVTY, SPACESHIPS, Subsist, and Unwed Sailor. There have been so many u2 cover songs over the years and u2 cover bands (you know who you are) but none as powerful as this new Beloved version. I’m sorry but I just have to say that this is the most powerful U2 cover by a rock band that I’ve ever heard! I used to think Thrush’s version of “New Years Day” was pretty awesome but this one takes the cake. The production is near perfect, all the instruments played with a certain melodic ferocity and the intensity of vocals absolutely blows me away.… Continued →

Acceptance have announced that they will release a brand new EP titled “Wild” on July 24th through Tooth & Nail Records. This much anticipated new EP will be a follow up to 2017’s “Colliding By Design” which released on Rise Records and found the band exploring a more electronic influenced indie-pop-rock. They released their critically acclaimed full length “Phantoms” in 2005. The first new single “Cold Air”, will be out next week through all digital networks. Two special things are happening next month, the 20th anniversary of Indie Vision Music and the 20th anniversary re-release of the debut EP from my pals in Names Without Numbers! This 20th anniversary edition re-release features re-imagined artwork, and a remastered version of all 5 songs found on the EP. Available digitally and possibly on Vinyl. 16 years ago Indie Vision Music released a little known EP by a little known emo/indie rock band from Kauai, Hawaii known as “Pennylane”. So much has changed in the years since both professionally, musically, industry, and personally, that those years seem like such a blur. I just remember a friend passing this self released EP to me at one of my Chain Reaction shows that the band released on their own and loving every second of it. Starflyer 59 have hooked up with Velvet Blue Music again and will release a brand new single titled “This Recliner” on May 14th via the label. This one has that classic sound of their past efforts wrapped up in a warm, smooth package ready to be enjoyed by the masses. Keith Settles is a name you may not instantly recognize but in terms of IVM past history, the name contains significant weight. Jess started out the IVM interview series on YouTube way back in mid 00’s and then when Keith Settles came aboard to help out, he created some of the finest video interviews we had up until that point. In fact, those are the last video interviews conducted by IVM (see YouTube page). Keith was frontman for a group out of So. Cal. called The Parousia and as of the last couple of years he has gone solo with some teeth clenching, honest tunes with an ep titled “Stories To Tell” set to drop on May 15th independently.… Continued →
