Anberlin Tease Reunion With New Profile Image

Update: The band has changed their official website and have posted this same image. Anberlin has been dropping little hints the past few months that are leaving fans guessing. Today they swapped out their profile image on facebook with a new pic that appears to be a photo taped back together. Could this be symbolism? Could this another hint at a reunion? Or is it just a standard photo image swap and/or nothing at all? You debate below and talk about your favorite Anberlin moments from years past. Let’s all stand back in eager anticipation for the next step and hopefully it is the one thing us fans are hoping for…..reunion.

Remedy Drive - Warlike (Official Music Video)

So this video was released back in January of this year along with their new album “The North Star” and I must say that it is a heavy hitter. I can’t believe I overlooked this release and didn’t give it proper promotion right here on IVM. Remedy Drive have created music that is deep and rich in content, overflowing with complex symbolism and a certain sense of urgency. You don’t come across music like this in Christian music scene all that often and I really enjoy this track as well as the album. For those looking for comparisons I would say I hear a bit of Switchfoot mixed with Jack White, Needtobreathe, The Black Keys, House of Heroes, and even a little Twenty One Pilots. Check out the video for “Warlike” below and purchase through all your favorite digital networks, streaming sites, or on CD from the band direct right here. They also have some items in their online store made by survivors of trafficking “T-shirts, bracelets, necklaces, elephants, boho pants and other items are handmade by survivors of trafficking and help fund organizations helping to rehabilitate and restore women who have been exploited”.

Anberlin Tease Return?

If Anberlin’s recent post on Instagram is any indication of an imminent “reunion”, count me as excited. I love this band and any mention of new music from them is certainly reason enough to justify a GOOD DAY. I didn’t really understand their breakup the first time (a hiatus would have been sufficient). Check out the post below and discuss among yourselves. Anyone game for more Anberlin music?

Names Without Numbers - The Apathy Anthem

It came out pretty cool I think and if you give it a chance, I am sure you’ll enjoy it too. Their music would please fans of Jimmy Eat World, Anberlin, The Classic Crime, Taking Back Sunday, House Of Heroes, Acceptance, and Thrice. Lyric video can be found below. Indie Flashback: Blood and Water

A little known independent band by the name of Blood and Water from Nor Cal splashed onto the scene towards the end of the last decade with a few indie releases (one of which can be found here) before signing with upstart new label Eden Records and releasing their label debut “In Character” in 2010. This critically acclaimed and fan adored full length has come to be accepted as one of the finer independent releases of the past decade. It’s incredible how much connects people and this band did just that. Although they didn’t tour much outside of California or top billboard charts, their music certainly won over fans like me and the impact has been felt. With captivating energy, uncompromising passion, and all around good vibes, you can’t help but be mesmerized by the music of Blood and Water. They had this certain likeable quality and a sound not easily replicated. In fact, their genre bending pull on alternative rock music was one of a kind. This music was certainly “commercial” enough to be accepted by the masses but like all good stories this one came to an abrupt halt after just this album (and song ‘Traffic’). While some people embrace the music of Talkie (featuring members of Blood and Water), I’ll forever be connected to this band and pray for a time that these guys will reunite to bless us all with an undeniable good time. Check out some of their music below and reminisce about the time you first discovered this band.

The Prayer Chain Announce Vinyl Release of "Shawl" and Live Show

Beloved Southern California 90’s alt-rock band, The Prayer Chain, have just announced a new campaign to fund the vinyl pressing of their much loved debut full length “Shawl”. The band crossed all barriers and industry confines to write songs that conveyed emotions which the general “Christian” market just wasn’t prepared to deal with at the time. Their music transcends all labels and tags that may be associated with the band to truly be recognized as the powerhouse rock act that they were. This and “Mercury” were the band at their finest. They were powerful, pioneering songwriters that were a step above all the rest. Check out the campaign here and let’s push them to that level where we’ll get one chance to see them LIVE again.
