A rising star in his own right, Sam Ryder is hear to slay (or is it stay?)! Sam just came in second place, representing the UK in the massive “Eurovision” contest. His star is burning brighter and he is garnering new fans across the globe. His debut album on Warner Music, “Nothing But Space, Man!” drops October 14th and can be preordered on CD or Cassette right here (UK Site). So just who is Sam Ryder and why is he being name dropped on IVM? Well, this David Bowie inspired artist comes from an active underground rock scene and even made his mark on TikTok before hitting hit big with Eurovision. You might recognize him as guitarist/BGVs in Blessed By a Broken Heart and even took over lead vocals for some demos after Tony left the band. He then went on to sing his heart out, leading the band “Close Your Eyes” and released 1 album before the band took a hiatus. He has an original sound but if I could draw some comparisons I would imagine Queen, David Bowie, Dragonforce (for the vocals), and even Robbie Williams (Say what?). Fun stuff, check him out.
