Abated Mass of Flesh releases "Shadowed By Light"

The Christian slamming brutal deathcore band (yes it’s a thing) Abated Mass of Flesh has released their second single for their album Lacerated. Cristo Surburbano Volume 3

Cristo Suburbano Volume 3

Real punk is harder to find these days – but hey, not everything will fit on a Tony Hawk soundtrack. Cristo Suburbano Volume 3 is equal parts overdriven, nostalgic, and Christ-focused. There’s a mix of punk, skate punk, hardcore, and other punk derivatives. Some of the songs are in English, though quite a few are in Spanish (as the title would indicate). If you’re looking for a culture experience to remind you that neither Christianity nor punk are dead, check out the 56-track compilation below.   Continued →

Leaked Islander Track

So the guys in Islander came across a track of theirs called “Wake Up!” that had been leaked online and were cool enough about it to share. I’m assuming the song was recorded during their time in the studio recording their most recent album, “Power Under Control”. The song is pretty killer and also features Jonathan Davis from Korn. Give it a listen and let us know what you think!… Continued →

Facedown Records Announces Facedown Fest 2017 Lineup

Facedown Records has just announced the lineup for Facedown Fest 2017. The festival has hosted many bands that were signed to other labels or the subsidiary Strike First Records, including Clear Convictions (Strike First), Comrades (ex-Blood and Ink), Bloody Sunday (Strike First) and several others. This year is the 20th anniversary of the label so they have had many of their prominent acts come join in or even reunite. The label is also hosting the Fest for 3 days, which is very abnormal as it is usually a one day event.… Continued →

Vocals to Begin Tracking on Friday for Next Stavesacre Record

Vocal tracking for the new Stavesacre record will begin tracking this Friday. This comeback record should definitely attract new fans and old fans alike, that’s my hope. It’s been over 10 years since the last full length and 8 years since any new recorded music has come from these seasoned veterans of rock music. My anticipation and expectations are high but I have a feeling this will be the record everyone is talking about come end of year. Continued →

Orion Walsh - 7

REVIEW : 7 - Orion Walsh

Just what should you expect from an album whose first track is titled Planes, Trains, and Automobiles? Though 7 is Orion Walsh’s seventh album, it’s my first listen to any of his work. Naturally, the first exposure to any artist comes with baggage. I can’t say I’ve ever met someone named Orion, but it’s definitely a masculine name and inherently reminds me of mythology first and astronomy second. The album art is a desaturated photo with a strong depth of field, with a central figure who we might assume to be Walsh himself.… Continued →
