Luke Easter who was the powerful lead vocalist for long running Christian metal band – Tourniquet, has returned to the music scene in the form of a 7 track ep which he is raising money for on IndieGoGo. He has some pretty amazing special guests laying down instruments and I am positive that mixed with his talents the Ep will be an unforgettable experience. Check out the campaign right here. Five Emo Albums You Might Not Have Heard

Though it has been posited that an emo revival has been occurring for the past eight years, there still remain to be many worthwhile releases from years prior. As the title of this piece indicates, I want to bring to the forefront some notable releases that I believe have been obscured in some way or another. Share your thoughts in the comments section on all things emo. 1. Stutterfly – And We Are Bled of Color (Maverick Records, 2005) The fact that Stutterfly metamorphosed into Secret & Whisper might surprise some.… Continued →

Ben Knight - The Lighter Side of The Dark Knight

Check out this fun lyric video by the comical and incredibly catchy indie-hip hop artist, Ben Knight, below. The song is titled “The Lighter Side Of The Dark Knight” and I think you’ll pick up on the content once you give it a listen and read the lyrics. The music of Ben Knight can best be described as some insane explosion between the music of Will Smith, Weird Al, and Furthermore, while offering a glimpse into the mind of a modern hip hop jokester. It’s a fun, comical, and witty take on modern rap with sounds/beats that will get you humming along for days.… Continued →

RIYL: Incubus, Story of the Year, Project 86, Tool, Spoken. Check out the song stream below.… Continued →

REVIEW : DIRE - Depths

DIRE, a metal band from Quitam, GA, released an EP titled “Depths” this past November. “Depths” is the band’s first offering since being signed to Sancrosanct Records earlier that year and is an impressive label debut. “Depths”, however, is preceded by a full length the band released in 2016, titled, “Volume 1” and an earlier, self-titled ep in 2013. Both of these releases were a bit heavier than “Depths”, but to me, it reveals a refining of the bands sound, and in a very positive way.… Continued →

Amongst the Giants - Lost In Translation

Amongst the Giants is a relatively newer band signed to Rockfest Records. The lineup includes Seventh Day Slumber drummer, Blaise Rojas, Brian Boyd, and Marco Pera. You can catch them on the Summer Rockfest tour this Summer with the likes of Seventh Day Slumber, Spoken, Random Hero, Zahna, and Gold, Frankincense, and Myrhh. Check out their lyric video for the song “Lost In Translation” and find them on social media to stay up to date on what these guys are up to.… Continued →

Archabald Q&A + Archafriends Subscription

Archabald did a live Q&A earlier this week and here’s the session for you to listen to! If you’re looking for the key points, they have a new EP titled “Carcosa” that is almost ready for distribution. There will be accompanying materials like videos and even a short story (as a physical item to complement the lyrical content of the EP). The EP contains darker lyrical themes and a heavier direction in sound. Most of these auxiliary materials, along with upcoming singles/EPs/albums will be available on a “pre-release” rotation via their Bandcamp Archafriends subscription, which also gives fans discounts on merch!… Continued →
