My Statement On The Movement

By in News | 3 Comments

Greetings friends and fellow Readers. I just wanted to drop a few lines about the meaning behind my silence and lack of words regarding the protests, murder of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter.

First off, I support freedom of speech from each and every side. Protests are a part of that freedom our grandparents, great grandparents, elders, and all those relatives of the past fought so hard to defend. I support the rights of those that want to stand up and get their voices heard.

I love all people, regardless of their color of skin, ethnicity, and gender. I don’t see a “color” when I look at friends and coworkers who aren’t white like myself. I see a human being, a life of worth. When my wife and I get together as group of friends, (like at Disneyland for example), we are just friends hanging out, not a color of skin separated and divided. I have a diverse family and diverse friends, but it shouldn’t matter.

I personally feel that a color of skin and protest for equality should not be treated as a trend. People’s lives are not bargaining chips and should not be considered a game of chess to the powers that hold control. This isn’t a time for influencers to get their perfect pictures or a journalist to get that perfect story. This isn’t a time for promotion, hype, and selling of related goods off the backs of innocent people that just want their voices heard. The 24 hour news cycle should not dictate how a culture of people should live their lives. I think so often some people fall into a trap of supporting a cause because it’s the cool thing to do. To get more notice or a pat on the back and recognition at the expense of a group of people struggling.

Ethnicity isn’t a trend and unfortunately I feel as though when the news shifts it’s story just like they have with everything else the last year or so, this story will be a piece of the past. To forget a culture of people because it’s old news and return to your same routines is heart breaking. Peoples lives and hearts are more than a trend, more than a news story. Where some may see colors, I only see humanity. Champion for the rights of everyone and love your fellow neighbor as yourself. End the hate. End racism. Let’s all learn like I’m trying to do and never see colors again, just see people.

We are one Church and one body of Christ. We are forgiven and made free of our sins through the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. We worship together, we pray together, we learn together. We are followers of Christ plain and simple.

Peace be with you this week and May the love of Jesus richly bless your lives as it has mine.

Furthermore, husbands are called to love their wives, “just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless” (Ephesians 5:25-27).

“So I feel the Lord putting this on my heart to share in regards to the protests going on around the world. You want peace? Ask Christ into your heart and life. Develop a relationship with Him. Then and only then will you have peace. You want change? Look to the former mention of developing a relationship with Christ. Allow Christ to work in you and thus change you. Then speak to others about Christ and the change He has done within you that they may be changed themselves. God bless.”

Hi Brandon, you nailed it!! That’s exactly how I feel, and I’m so glad I can relate with this post.

Thank you!

Very well stated, brother! You basically penned, or in this case, typed my very own thoughts on the matter! Christ bless you! Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
