Kids in the Way (K I D S.) Announce EP Release Dates
After not updating their Facebook page for nearly four years, Kids in the Way (K I D S.) started posting again in April of this year. As it turns out, original members Dave Pelsue, Nathan Hughes, and Austin Cobb have reunited and will be releasing two EPs in 2017. K I D S. announced on October 4th that the first EP will be released in March while the second will be released in October. Life In Your Way Start Again
Life In Your Way came out of hiatus and played a show at Souled Out Fest in NY a week ago. The band has plans to make a new album just don’t call it a “reunion”. The Hotshot Freight Train Release Final Album
I’ve got to report some sad news today that might bother a few of you, the band The Hotshot Freight Train are unfortunately calling it quits but they are going out with a BANG! The now classic numetal/rapcore band, Every Day Life, have indeed reunited as evidenced on their new Facebook page. The band recently hosted a Q&A session on Facebook and have plans for a special podcast through their former label home “Frontline/Alarma Records”. Every Day Life have plans for some explosive reunion shows in Orange County/So Cal, Ohio, and a few other spots in 2017. 2016 also marked the 20th anniversary of their debut full length, “Disgruntled”. Luke Renno (Crimson Thorn) Joins Taking the Head of Goliath
Luke Renno, one of the founders of UnDead Metal (I’m going to make it a thing one day) band Crimson Thorn, has recently joined a new band, called Taking the Head of Goliath. Renno formed Crimson Thorn in 1991 with Guitarist Miles Sunde, Bassist Dylan Jennigis, and Drummer Dave Quast. Throughout the years, the only original members that remained throughout Crimson Thorn’s initial existence were Renno and Sunde. Crimson Thorn has been inactive since 2008 or so. On October 20, 2016, Taking the Head of Goliath announced that Renno joined the band as their Bassist/Vocalist.… Continued →
Renascent Releases Sophomore Album
Renascent, former Finns, now Indiana residents, Melodic death metal, thrash metal, band is on the verge of releasing their sophomore release, Praise of the Lord God Almighty. Renascent formed in 2003 with Drummer Jani Stefanovic (Divinefire, Miseration, ex-Crimson Moonlight), Guitarist Eero Tertsunen, and Keyboardist Mikaela Akrenius. The band formed in Finland, but in more recent days, they have moved to Bloomington, Indiana. The current lineup is Eero, Mikaela, Bassist Voitto Rintala, and Drummer Markus Saarela. Dave Gryder, ex-Heaven's Force, Interviewed
Recently, Dave Gryder of the band Heaven’s Force was interviewed. Heaven’s Force is thought to be the first Christian thrash metal band. Though not as popular as bands like Vengeance Rising or Tourniquet or even Detritus or Ultimatum, Heaven’s Force pioneered the genre, unknown to most of the world from the year they started, 1983, up until 2009, when the band re-released their demos in the form of a compilation. Selfmindead Reunion
Selfmindead, Swedish metalcore band, has returned to the scene with what should be known as the classic lineup. I made that up, but it seems to hold true. The band announced they were reuniting for Brainstorm Festival, a music festival in the Netherlands, on November 12, 2016. The band has merch up for pre-order, with two options. UnTeachers: A Solo Project Once Again; Possible Tantrum of the Muse Reunion
The Sludge metal band, UnTeachers is down to just Stephen Sarro once again, for the first time since 2011. Sarro has had a reoccurring number of friends and musicians, including his cousin, Travis Turner, ex-Aletheian and host of the As The Story Grows, ex-Tantrum of the Muse Keyboardist Seth Luzier, and ex-Good Clean Fun drummer Thom Lambert. The most recent lineup was was Sarro, Turner and Bassist Josh Kale, until Sarro made a post.
