Song of the Day: Convicted - Outcry vs Hope For the Dying - Orison

Hope for the Dying is a symphonic metal band which had its roots in metalcore. They formed under the moniker Convicted in 2003 & released 3 EPs/demos until 2007 when they changed their name. Song of the Day - Believer -Dies Irae (Day of Wrath)

Believer is a Pennsylvanian 4 piece technical thrash metal band. Forming in 1985 they changed their name from Deceiver. I remember buying their Sanity Obscure LP in my hometown of Normal, Illinois & then later getting a cassette tape of Dimensions. A few years back they released 3 2-song singles & I haven’t seen anything from them since. This SOTD I have seen as one the origins of the symphonic metal scene. Death Requisite Loses Member, Begins Working on New Material

The symphonic death metal band, Death Requisite has some upsetting news but also some equally exciting news, which I suppose equals everything out. On July 14, the band announced the departure of the band’s singer, Vincent St. James, after 4 years of being apart of the band. James was on the band’s most recent album and Rottweiler Records’ debut Revisitation. The two split ways on friendly terms. On July 31, the band would also announce they were writing new material. Symphony of Heaven releases "Stratagem" Lyric Video

Symphony of Heaven, the symphonic death metal project from Owensville, IN, has a new lyric video up for their song “Stratagem”. The project started earlier this year, and has released two songs, with an EP coming soon. I recently did an interview with the brainchild of the project, Logan Thompson.
