Starflyer 59 Return With New Single via Velvet Blue Music

Starflyer 59 have hooked up with Velvet Blue Music again and will release a brand new single titled “This Recliner” on May 14th via the label. This one has that classic sound of their past efforts wrapped up in a warm, smooth package ready to be enjoyed by the masses. I’m so happy to see Jason Martin continuing on with this project and releasing more new music.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Starflyer 59 - Dual Overhead Cam

To commemorate the deluxe vinyl re-issue of Starflyer 59’s legendary sophomore album, Gold, our Song of the Day has to be a pick from that timeless release. The first time I heard this song was also my first time catching the band live. It was the very first Tooth & Nail Weekend at the Where-House in Bartlesville, OK. Also on the bill was Focused, Unashamed, locals Mr Bishop’s Fist (if you know, you know), Wish for Eden (whose van broke down en route so they were unable to join, unfortunately), Chatterbox, and Plankeye.… Continued →

Starflyer 59 Release Upbeat New Song "Young In My Head"

Starflyer 59 drop the title track off the upcoming new full length effort “Young In My Head”, which releases on April 26th through Tooth & Nail Records. The song is an energetic, upbeat jam featuring a driving drum section, slight synth elements, and that classic Jason Martin guitar tone. If you’ve never heard of SF59 and somehow missed out on the past 25 years of legendary music making, give these two new songs a listen then go back and listen to the classics.… Continued →

REVIEW : Starflyer 59 - Slow

How many artists can you name with 14 studio albums? There probably aren’t too many. Jason Martin, the man behind Starflyer 59, not only has 14 LPs under his cosmic moniker, but he’s also released and contributed to numerous other projects such as Bon Voyage and Neon Horse. His “blue collar” approach to music (as notated in all his albums) has resulted in a prolific 23-year run in the music industry. Starflyer 59’s newest record, Slow, follows Jason looking back at all he’s been through along the way.… Continued →
