In September of last year, PARIAH, the solo project from Quinn McGraw, began releasing singles building up to the release of the EP “Swansong” this past week. The Letter Black have announced the release of not one, but two new full length albums with a total of 20+ songs. The albums, titled “Paper” and “Ink” will feature two different sounds according to the band. No specific release date has been given at this time, but it’s said to be coming soon. All in all, I thought 2025 was a pretty good year for music! There were a few bands I’d hoped to hear some new material from and didn’t. There were a few I didnt expect to hear from whatsoever…but we did! Then, there were even a few new bands and artists I’d never heard of before who popped up on the radar and made some really great music! Before there was Mutemath, there was Earthsuit. Fronted by Paul Meany, Earthsuit was a rather eclectic band, ahead of its time in a number of ways, but unfortunately disbanded in 2003. The track comes out swinging, but relents slightly in the choruses, making way for some really melodic vocal leads that are especially catchy. The vocals on this track sound amazing. Back in September, P.O.D. released their cover of The Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down” to digital retailers and streaming sites. The track gives the song that special P.O.D. flavor and has been well received by fans of both bands. Recently, we shared news of 2 singles released by P.O.D.’s own Sonny Sandoval that would feature on his debut solo release, but at the time, we had no further info on the details of the release.   This past weekend Sonny took to social media to share that the release, titled “Sonny Dread”, will be a full length reggae album (10 songs in all) and is set to drop on December 11th. Seth Davey, formerly of Attalus, has released a new album, “Words In the Wounds”, which follows up last year’s release, “Kingdom Rising”. “Words In the Wounds” seems to be a good bit more upbeat than “Kingdom Rising” and is full of songs of praise and faith in God. Everyone's favorite pop-punk heroes - LIGHT THE WAY, are issuing their 2022 album "Long Story Short" on vinyl for the very first time! One of the most underrated and relatively unknown by many, this band has been making catchy, addictive, supercharged and passionate punk rock with a strong sense wittiness and tongue in cheek hunor since 2016 or so. The band has recently been gaining even more momentum with the release of their latest album "Expel" almost one year ago. "Long Story Short" will be available on red splatter vinyl, limited to just 100 copies and all hand numbered. Grace Graber has been grabbing headlines lately with her spirited take on pop-punk and mid 00’s emo tunes that bring a fresh look at nostalgic yearning toward yesteryear. She has a unique take on pop music and a voice built perfect for her guitar centric sound. A new band that I’m not sure has gotten much coverage by IVM (my apologies) but is entirely worthy of exposure is… HOPE DEFERRED. The band are releasing their debut full length titled “Darkness Remains” next week. The band is comprised with members of Embodyment and The Showdown including Showdown lead vocalist David Bunton who also fronts this new band. Check out their new song “Brethren of Blood”, below! I’ll just come out and say it, “Deathbed” is quite possibly the best “Christian” song that has been written in the past 15 years. That is quite a statement to make and I’ll tell you why. First of all, bands who can create an 11 minute “epic” song with constant peaks and valleys all the while captivating the listener with a heavy dose of heart tugging melodrama, you know they are doing it right. I don’t know what it is and maybe that’s just me being a sentimental, sappy fool, but when I give this track a listen, I am left with a tear(s) streaming down my cheek.… Continued →

This favorite band of mine NAMES WITHOUT NUMBERS are channeling their inner 80’s child and have covered the classic Tears for Fears staple, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and have released it on all streaming platforms. It’s a tasteful cover and showcases the band’s unforgettable sound and penchant for tackling heartwarming emotional subject matter mixed with heavy nostalgia to create an unforgettable cover track. Seth Davey formerly of the band Attalus, has just dropped his beautiful new worship centric, solo song titled “39 Years and Counting”. It is honest, beautiful in sound, and all together engaging on a deep spiritual level. Don’t ever count out a great indie artist and don’t discount their talents just because their songs might not have that major label/promo stamp on it. Beloved Southern California indie rock legends – The Prayer Chain, have announced 3 reunion shows along with a kickstarter to fund a re-release of the original “Mercury” recording which will be titled “Communion”. This is the 30th anniversary of that ground breaking final album they released all the way back in 1995.
