I first became acquainted with Steve Owsinski when I was seeking out other musicians to work with on a project of mine. After emailing each other back and forth for a little I came to discover he had a project of his own. I went and looked it up on Facebook and was able to hear some demos and live tracks and thought to myself if he ever did a professional recording it would probably be pretty good. Here I am, just a few months later with Steve Owsinski’s “Seek And You Will Find” ep sitting just a few feet away and thought there would be a good number of people who would really enjoy it and it would be a good idea to review it. So here we go…

“Seek And You Will Find” was produced by Dave Elkins of Mae and Schematic. If you’re familiar with Dave’s work, you know he knows what he’s doing and does it well, which only made me look forward to this ep all the more. If I had to summarize it using a brief comparison I’d say it reminds me of a bit of a mellower Ocean Is Theory. The lyrics are all about God and our reaching out to Him knowing He is faithful. The music is well executed with strong rhythms and leads that are well placed…not too in your face, not too weak, but just right. Vocally, again, I’m strongly reminded of Ocean Is Theory. There are some choruses that are sure to get caught in your head and some harmonies that were well put together.

Overall: From front to back I found this EP quite enjoyable. If you’re looking for something new to listen to this would be one of the first things to come to mind. I highly recommend checking it out and look forward to seeing what the future holds for Steve.
