Oh my, my heart is aching now that I have heard the news that Third Day is no longer going to tour. I will never forget the first time I heard their song Consuming Fire, “Wow these guys can rock” I said to myself. The song touched a cold place in my heart and helped to kindle a fire that Jesus used… I have thanked God for your music and will enjoy listening for years to come. While I’ve never been a huge fan, I have definitely enjoyed some of their songs over the decades, particularly “I’ve Always Loved You.” This feels like the end of an era. Their ’96 debut came at the same time as Plankeye’s Commonwealth and Newboys’ Take Me to Your Leader, and shortly after Jars of Clay’s Self-Titled, DC Talk’s Jesus Freak and Audio Adrenaline’s Bloom.
