Introducing: Voyagers (Post Hardcore From Washington State)
The spotlight should shine brightly on this new band called Voyagers out of Washington state. The band just released their debut single titled “No Consequence” (through bandcamp for name your price) and it is a refreshing take on the post-hardcore/indie rock genre. Smooth vocals that aren’t off tune, well placed bass, guitars, and percussion. The Best of 2007: Indie Hits You Might Have Missed
2007 was definitely a strong year for music. As much as I enjoyed some of the more popular releases of the year, the lesser known albums certainly held a place in my heart. The albums listed below are a mix of independent, underground, and mostly over looked releases from the year 2007. Feel free to dissect and discuss below in the comments. Oh and I left off 2 important 2007 honorary IVM releases because that would be self-promotion am I right? Quick and the Dead “Going Home“, and “Hearts Bleed Passion Vol.… Continued →

Jason Dunn Announces New Band Name, New Songs, and LTTP Reunion
Jason Dunn (of Hawk Nelson/Lights Go Down) has announced he will be reuniting with some friends under a new band name and will have new songs to go with it. This new music will be similar to early Hawk Nelson, a band he fronted for more than a decade. He also has been teasing a tour of “Letters To The President” in 2019 (15th Anniversary of that album). Anyone stoked to hear new pop-punk by Jason Dunn? That last Lights Go Down ep was great and I have a feeling a new band in that Hawk Nelson/pop-punk style will get fans salivating.… Continued →
Jess Penner to Release "Imagination" Ep August 11th
Indie Pop singer/songwriter, Jess Penner, will release her new ep titled “Imagination” on August 11th through Position Music/Recurrent Records. This laid back collection of tunes for the whole family is ripe with electro pop-folk and will inspire joy not only in youngsters but adults alike. I’ve followed Jess Penner’s music since she was a part of the Hawaii based alt rock band Spooky Tuesday way back in the 90s. She has continued to produce positive, uplifting indie focused pop music for the past few decades through groups like Chandelle, We Cry Diamonds, Kayjez, and her much adored solo work.… Continued →

The Best of 2007: Favorite Hits From 10 Years Ago
Hey friends it’s that time again, time for another “list”. Feel free to offer up your big Laugh-Out-Louds and smirks for some “hits” I found appealing 10 years ago. A lot of stuff from that year was enjoyed by me, some I am rediscovering, and others were missed opportunities. Check out my “list” below and feel free to listen to the playlist I created on Spotify for this list found in the article.
