Have You Heard of Six Foot Midget?

By in Articles | 8 Comments

Six Foot Midget was a ska punk band from Denton, TX. FFO: The Insyderz, The O.C. Supertones, and May Weather.

Six Foot Midget began in 1999 as a Christian ska punk cover band performing songs by such bands as The Insyderz. They then began writing their own material and performing at local churches and venues. They had released 2 ep’s in their early years and eventually released their full length, “The Start of Something Small” in 2003.

While the band mostly stuck to playing in the Dallas, TX area, they were fortunate enough to hit up parts of the Midwest with their message of hope and salvation that lies in Christ. Unfortunately, the band disbanded in late 2003. It was a mutual decision between all members as they had felt the band had run its course and were ready to move on with their next chapters in life that the Lord had prepared for them.

Although Six Foot Midget is no longer around, their music and message still lives on. You can download their full length for free on their bandcamp page below, and listen to it on Spotify.

Thanks for featuring Six Foot Midget on Indie Vision. Somehow I am just now seeing this article but it’s super cool. Thanks for your undying support!

This author has no reference and speaks as though they were there. This was not an accurate account. Honestly, it is a misrepresentation and is inaccurate at best. I’d love to speak with the author. If they know me, they know where to find me. Chris did.

I served in the military with one of the band members. Having a hell of a time finding JW these days. Have him hit me up if anyone sees this? -Griff

I’d like to know too. James used to live behind me and I went to church with Micah. We were all there for their making. Really wish they stayed around.
