Zach Bridier of Captive Portal, and October Bird of Death (not to mention DBD Tapes) has put together a pretty impressive punk rock collaboration album titled “DIY Together”. It features singers from bands around the globe lending their voice for each track on the release. This is heavy yet melodic, blunt, in your face, and enlightening raw punk. Here’s a song from Canada’s own, Lucerin Blue, who released Tales of the Knife in 2003 on Tooth & Nail Records. While the album is stacked with great alternative rock songs, “Chorus of the Birds” resonates. One of these reasons, I think, is that it was also featured on The Nail, Vol. 1, a classic T&N compilation.
