Song of the Day: Balance - How Can I

This hard rock band hails from Minnesota and released 1 LP back in ’03.  Took a while to track it down, but received it this past week from drummer Donn Kranz. The music has a tad of prog feel which changes it up from other similar releases. Highlights for me also include The Light and Quietly. The lyrics are very Godly. This SOTD speaks of God’s grace & mercy as we can’t please God with our sin nature. Only Jesus can per His atonement for our sins on the cross.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Nurtured in Purple - Maynard

This song obviously references the vocalist for Tool. The Band is very hard to find anything on. I have a few of their songs. from what I remember a 5 song EP from circa early to mid 2000s. They were on Christian rock radio way back in the day when hard rock songs were on the “loud” charts? I am pretty sure Decrease Me, Day by Day & Strike Out were the ones. I think the band names comes from the following passage from Lamentations 4:4–5:   “The tongue of the nursling cleaves to its palate in thirst. … Continued →

Song of the Day: Trust Divided - Right Through You

This band reminds me so much of mainstream’s 5 Finger Death Punch. Hailing from Kentucky, the band incorporates melodic hard rock from a Christian perspective. The band formed in 2009 with 2 members meeting due to the military bringing them to the same area. Being prior military for close to 8 years, this resonated with this reviewer. They have toured with mainstream & Christian bands alike & have great songs such as From The Inside Out (Not the worship song cover) & Still Standing. Check out my fave from them.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Chaotic Resemblance - Sound Of The Saints

Oklahoma’s Chaotic Resemblance plays music reminiscent of 80s hard rock/glam metal. This review is in high expectations of their upcoming release which will probably sport their most current single Unto The Lamb which features Stryper’s very own Oz Fox who has undergone some health issues recently but is recovering. Plus, they just have a cool name & my buddy Kelly & I got the chance to see them live a couple years back before this whole Covid hit. They have new pretty cool t-shirts as well on their site: https://chaoticresemblance.com/collections/all… Continued →

Song of the Day: Leaderdogs For The Blind-Restless

One of my all time fave releases, Lemonade, was from a band released by the defunct R.E.X. Music. Forming circa 1993, the 4 band members had changed their name from Leaderdogs to add For The Blind. They blew Christian indie music lovers away with an industrial/hard rock hybrid with iconic songs such as Yellow & Black Attack (no, not the Stryper album!), Better Ways, Ripple & Supersaturated. They followed up with The Resurrect Me EP that included other the greats Pollinate & Lie You Buy. Then, boom, that was it.… Continued →

The Persuaded Loses Bassist

Christian metal/rock band The Persuaded announced the departure Joseph Vargas, bassist and backing vocalist for the band. The Persuaded is a band that originated in September 2010 with four members, including Vargas. As of the last month, the band has been playing shows without Vargas, having fill-ins taking over that position. On October 23, 2016, the band announced the departure of Vargas. Vargas is currently working on a project entitled Our Last Trial. The Persuaded is currently working on a new EP.… Continued →
