Song of the Day: The Fall of Leviathan - Jesus Didn't Live the American Dream

Good luck on finding much on this rarity. I believe from what I remember they were featured on Radiou’s metal show many years ago. They seem to be of an early metalcore/deathcore variety & were from Reno, Nevada. Their Myspace page has them going to Joshuafest back in 2010 & ReverbNation has a demo of another of their songs. This song’s lyrics sounds to be close to a worship song as you can hear them screaming He died for us circa the 1:30 mark & some spoken circa the 3:15 mark.… Continued →

Song of the Day: TheCellExperiment - The Prize

This industrial artist Chris Cummings has gone by a myriad of names over the years of whom you can hear more of his stuff through Bandcamp. I have always liked this one, but it was long lost from a comp cd I made when mp3.com went away. Anyways, forgot about it over the years & found 3 cds of his on Ebay recently. Was listening to his nostalgic stuff when one jumped at me & I realized this was the song I had lost circa 20 years ago!… Continued →

Song of the Day: I Am They - From The Day

This country folk rock band isn’t your normal artist noticed on this site, but they have been a fave of mine for years. I finally got the chance to see them live here recently & I was sad. This was their last tour as a band. They actually started out really small doing some songs for their church from what I gather. Obviously they grew & found their way onto Christian CCM radio. I actually performed this song on bass to this megachurch church I was going to at the time to audition for the worship band.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Room Full of Walters - Jefferey Dahmer Went to Heaven

Room Full of Walters was a modern alternative rock band from Kansas & were on Christian rock radio formats back in the late 90s. This SOTD references the age old question of how far is too far gone for us to be able to go to Heaven. The band had seen an interview on television & wrote this song. I know the reference is very extreme, but it still brings to light that every sin keeps us away from Jesus. Not one is good enough & we ALL need JESUS.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Nurtured in Purple - Maynard

This song obviously references the vocalist for Tool. The Band is very hard to find anything on. I have a few of their songs. from what I remember a 5 song EP from circa early to mid 2000s. They were on Christian rock radio way back in the day when hard rock songs were on the “loud” charts? I am pretty sure Decrease Me, Day by Day & Strike Out were the ones. I think the band names comes from the following passage from Lamentations 4:4–5:   “The tongue of the nursling cleaves to its palate in thirst. … Continued →

Song of the Day: Shelak - Change

So here alas is another rarity. I don’t remember where I got this song from, but I always found it catchy. Seems to be modern rock/grunge back circa the early 2000s from Minnesota.  I found them listed on an old Tripod site that listed other Minnesota bands: punkers Angry Atom & Children 18:3 along with IVM bands Names Without Numbers & The Roosevelts. Maybe someone knows more about them? Continued →

Song of the Day: The Stand - Can You See It?

The Stand was a 90s power pop band that played on the CCM radio scene when Petra, Wayne Watson, Hoi Polloi, Out of the Grey, Point of Grace, The Winans, Whitecoss were all on the same playlist. It was a way cool time in the scene as you could the radio friendly songs from hard rockers right along next to CCM mainstays. I found out when I got older the formats varied across the USA & I was pretty blessed to have a modern CCM station near me.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Opus Irae - The Burden of Man

This German symphonic unblack metal band has been musically compared to Emperor & Dimmu Borgir whom I personally have never listened to. From what I gather they used the Endtime record label which has worked with Drottnar, Bloodwork, Crimson Moonlight & Dalit. I happen to really dig symphonic unblack metal more than other heavy genres such as thrash, deathcore or death metal so this track resonates with me. Anyways, enjoy & hope your Saturday is going awesome!      … Continued →

Song of the Day: Sacred Reign - I Wanna See Your Face

This cd that this song came from was nearly impossible to find. I finally was able to upload it so it wasn’t lost forever. If I find any songs elsewhere on YouTube then it probably wouldn’t be relevant to my channel as it’s dedicated to obscurity in the vast “Christian” realm of music. The man in the picture is my grandpa on my channel who passed away in his 90s & is an homage to him as I was able to obtain the last picture of him.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Naos Project - Transcend

Naos Project aka Naos was a nu-metal band in the mid 2000s. They are pretty obscure & I have very few songs from them. This song came from a CDR album & was also listed on the old mp3.com site. They have another song called You that’s really good also. From what I have gathered over the years is that they changed their name to The Heroine & dropped the nu-metal vibe. for a more southern rock tone. I did come across a San Antonio Herald article on a very brief history of the band, but not including due to the language included.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Pillar - Fireproof Vs Simply

Pillar is a band I really got into while I was stationed in the military. My friend & I weren’t to so many shows I lost count. I remember seeing Pillar w/ EastWest & The Benjamin Gate in Greenville, SC. I didn’t get into their stuff much after Where Do We Go From Here save a few songs. Fireproof is just a staple int heir career, but Simply has lyrics that I have not forgotten over the years. I’ve made it so hard on myself, turning my back on how you felt Seeing a lie that led me on, leaving a love that did no wrong That’s what it took for me to say That you simply love Despite all the stupid things I’ve done It’s hard to remember That you simply love Even though I know not what I’ve done It’s hard to remember That you simply love I’ve tried to do all this on my own Not thinking once of what you’ve shown All that I’ve done has blinded me To everything that you have for me I want you to know that I finally see I don’t know why I can’t understand I don’t know why I can’t comprehend Continued →

REVIEW : Rackets and Drapes - Chapter One: Welcome Home (New album)

Shock rockers R&D have released their new album which is the first of the Sanatorium collection & is currently on all digital networks as of tomorrow. I have been friends with Kandy for many years & have enjoyed all the music I have been sent that they have been working on. If you are a long time fan, you will recognize the reworks such as Milk & Cookies & Stix & Stonz. There is also a new one Suicide Machine which I had the opportunity to hear a demo probably a year or so ago now.… Continued →
