Everyone's favorite pop-punk heroes - LIGHT THE WAY, are issuing their 2022 album "Long Story Short" on vinyl for the very first time! One of the most underrated and relatively unknown by many, this band has been making catchy, addictive, supercharged and passionate punk rock with a strong sense wittiness and tongue in cheek hunor since 2016 or so. The band has recently been gaining even more momentum with the release of their latest album "Expel" almost one year ago. Grace Graber has been grabbing headlines lately with her spirited take on pop-punk and mid 00’s emo tunes that bring a fresh look at nostalgic yearning toward yesteryear. A new band that I’m not sure has gotten much coverage by IVM (my apologies) but is entirely worthy of exposure is… HOPE DEFERRED. The band are releasing their debut full length titled “Darkness Remains” next week. The band is comprised with members of Embodyment and The Showdown including Showdown lead vocalist David Bunton who also fronts this new band. Check out their new song “Brethren of Blood”, below! I’ll just come out and say it, “Deathbed” is quite possibly the best “Christian” song that has been written in the past 15 years. That is quite a statement to make and I’ll tell you why. First of all, bands who can create an 11 minute “epic” song with constant peaks and valleys all the while captivating the listener with a heavy dose of heart tugging melodrama, you know they are doing it right. I don’t know what it is and maybe that’s just me being a sentimental, sappy fool, but when I give this track a listen, I am left with a tear(s) streaming down my cheek.… Continued →

Another example for how 2025 musically just keeps getting better and better. This favorite band of mine NAMES WITHOUT NUMBERS are channeling their inner 80’s child and have covered the classic Tears for Fears staple, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and have released it on all streaming platforms. It appears like People of Punk Rock Records will be dusting off that epic Dogwood punk classic “Matt Aragon” for a whole new generation of to enjoy. The album that brought tears to the eyes with the track “Do or Die” will finally be getting the vinyl treatment. This album has always held a special spot in my heart since it’s first initial release back during a turbulent time in our country’s history of September 2001 when it originally released. Nate Parrish has gone above and beyond in bringing what I consider to be his absolute finest song by far in the history of Nate Parrish. There’s so much to love about it from the crunchy guitar strumming, snotty punk vocals from the Natester himself, some subtle electronic touches, and the those bold, honest lyrics which really speak truth about the reality of living in this broken world.
