REVIEW : Relent - Heart Attack (Revisited Review)

A little over a year ago, I wrote a review for “Heart Attack” by new(er) nu metal band, Relent. Recently, the band has re-released the ep on Rockfest Records and so, I thought I’d re-review the re-release. Without looking back to the review done last March, let’s revisit “Heart Attack”, including the newly added tracks. I will say that since the initial review done last March, my love and excitement for the ep hasn’t waned a bit; it has longevity. For an album, much less an ep, to maintain its excitement and “go-to” factor after a year says something.… Continued →

Relent Drop New Track, "Low"

If you’ve yet to hear Relent, you’re missing out. The nu metal/hard rock outfit from San Antonio came out swinging with their debut ep, “Heart Attack” last year that was a front to back slammer. The band has more recently signed with Rockfest Records with plans to re-release the debut ep, which will include their newest song, “Low”. The song deals with the subject of depression as well as addiction and talks about the hope we have to overcome it. Excited to see what the future holds for these guys.… Continued →

Relient K Drop Live Album

In something of a surprise (at least to me), Relient K released a new live album on Spotify minutes ago. The 15 tracks that appear on the release include one track from Two Lefts, a few choice selections off Mmhmm, and the rest are from varied releases after that. Looking forward to giving this a good listen. You can also pick up the live vinyl HERE, however it appears to contain 9 songs rather than 15. Who’ll be checking this out??… Continued →

The Letter Black Signs To Rockfest Records

In an announcement made earlier tonight, The Letter Black announced they’ve signed with Rockfest Records. Not much else is firmed up at the time of this post, such as when to expect the first single or new album, but there are shows scheduled starting in June (tentatively, for obvious reasons). Rockfest Records has been in the practice of signing some really great bands since their inception just over 2 years ago…what do you guys think of this signing?… Continued →

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Release New Song/Lyric Video, "Brace Yourself"

Later this year, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will release The Emergency ep, and while an exact release date appears to be unannounced at this time, the band has released a new lyric video for the track “Brace Yourself”, which will appear on the ep. The song, as many others lately, seems to be heavily consistent with current events. This is the second single to drop off this upcoming release, the first being “A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Called LA”. Check out the lyric video for “Brace Yourself” below.… Continued →

Matty Mullins Releases New Song, "No Hold On Me"

Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire released a new song last night called “No Hold On Me”. If you haven’t already heard Matty’s solo material, it’s quite different from MMF and is much more pop/electronic. This one in particular has a pop/worship feel and what sounds like a choir behind him throughout the track. Good song, great message. Check it out below.… Continued →

Twenty One Pilots Release New Song/Video, "Level of Concern"

Twenty One Pilots debuted their new song, “Level of Concern” earlier today and a video to go with it. The song isn’t really all that different from what you might already expect from them, but is nonetheless a pretty enjoyable listen. Both the song and video very clearly echo the current state of affairs we’re all facing with being locked down, quarantined, or whatever word/phrase you prefer to use. Check out the video below and hit us back with your thoughts!  … Continued →
