The girls have shown themselves a force to be reckoned with time and time again and have already released the song “Taking Over” (see our previous post HERE) which showed no signs of letting up; if anything, it’s one of the band’s heaviest offerings to date. It wasn’t long ago that GFM announced an acoustic ep, set for release on December 1st. With the release date being just about a week out, I thought I’d tap out a quick review on it. I was fortunate enough to have caught the band’s recent show at the Space Coast State Fair in Melbourne, FL. The show was great and sitting right there on the merch table were copies of the acoustic ep, available a few weeks ahead of the scheduled release date. So, another year and Halloween has officially come and gone. So, being November, for many it’s kind of Christmas season. If you’re like me though and think it’s a bit early, the nee GFM Christmas cover is sure to change your mind. The girls in GFM covered “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and knocked it out of the park. Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh are primed to release a new EP this Spring and we’ve already been given a taste  from their first single, “On the Inside“, but just this past week, we were treated to another track from the EP titled “Give Me A Sign”. This new track maintains their heavy sound, and is really driving and aggressive. The screams you might expect to hear are absent, but it by no means detracts from the track, it’s really quite great. There’s a noticeable growth in their songwriting as the song is very well broken up, musically speaking, making for a really enjoyable listen.… Continued →

I am always on the lookout for new bands to listen to. Sometimes it feels like an eternity passes between finding one new band and the next, but then again, that could also be because I can be a little picky about my music. In those rare instances when I DO manage to find a new band, I’m just happy or excited I found something new to add to my music library. Still, there are those even rarer instances yet, where I’m every bit as eager and excited to let others know about these bands as well because I think they’ve really got something special and I’m eager to see how God uses them in the future.… Continued →
