Song of the Day: Beloved (US) - Like a Song (U2 Cover)

Beloved (US) released this absolutely flawless cover of U2’s classic song, “Like a Song”, last month. It is without a doubt, one of my favorite cover songs by an artist we write about and quite simply one of the best songs of 2020. To be honest, I wasn’t as familiar with this U2 song as much as their other more famous tracks but nonetheless the band put their own unique spin on it and blew it out of the water. It’s not only lyrically poignant but the sound quality of this one song is on par with anything a major label artist would release in 2020.… Continued →

REVIEW : Thin Ice "Misery Noose"

San Antonio, Texas' Metallic Hardcore act Thin Ice has recently released demos for what would've been their full length follow up to their Blood & Ink records EP release "Revelation Through Tribulation". Needless to say, this doesn't disappoint in the least. Heavy and aggressive as expected.

MyChildren MyBride released “Thorns” today and announced their fourth new album, Vicious World. REVIEW : Advent - Pain & Suffering

2016 was the year for comebacks. There was bands like Destroy the Runner, Hopesfall, and Advent. Advent has brought their A-game with their comeback. And they bring the pain with their new EP, Pain and Suffering. You could call it a “Revival”. “Wind from the Valley” is the first track of the EP. The bass is thick, the guitars bring in the metal, while the drums are very hardcore style. Joe Musten’s vocals are some of the most violent vocals ever. “Wind from the Valley” sounds like a slower version of the band Nails.… Continued →

7 Incredibly Energetic Metal and Hardcore Albums You Need to Hear Before You Die

Energy is something that is extremely hard to gauge on a music album. Energy is the tone and excitement portrayed by the musicians. It’s the passion you hear in the sound. But how does one contain the energy of The Chariot and put that into an album? If you’ve ever seen them live, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Or Emery. They know energy. Ever notice the first track on any of their albums is one of their heaviest or hardest songs? Mainstream music production tends to suck the energy right out of music.… Continued →
