Once upon a time there was a local band here on Long Island by the name of ‘Mannafest.’ And by the time I had heard of them, they had already been at it for years. Eventually, they changed their name to Edison, an appropriate name considering the evolution of sound that was taking place. As time went by, their talent became increasingly impressive, and we all knew what was to come.

I stand here 3 years after ‘Edison Glass’ became the flagship band of EMI’s Credential Records, and there has yet to be a time where Edison Glass’ performances and recordings have disappointed me. The new album ‘Time is Fiction’ is no exception to the rule.

If you’re a fan of ‘A Burn or a Shiver’ I can’t guarantee your going to love ‘Time is Fiction.’ However, if you are a fan of lush melodies and dynamic soundscapes, this is the album for you. Tracks like ‘All Our Memories’ and ‘See Me Through’ have complex rhythms, but nothing that’s going to keep you from drumming on your steering wheel. James Usher’s jealousy-inciting guitar parts continue on there ever upward impressiveness, and compliment their unique progressions seeminglessly. All of this, of course would be in vain if not for Joshua Silverberg’s vibratic vocals dueling with Josh Morin’s high-pitched fluid singing.

‘Time is Fiction’ is more than an album. It is a celebration of music, art, and unprecedented, unappreciated talent. I take pride of having this album in my collection.
