Reinventing Yourself is a relevant little collection of music. There’s a lot of familiarity in Reinventing Yourself pertaining to sound and overall quality that make it a pretty enjoyable listen, and the vocals remind me a little of Ryan Key and Stephan Jenkins. I guess that puts this band’s sound right in the crossroads of two decades, so it’s got a nice balance of modernity, especially for us 90’s kids. That being said, “To Forgive” is my favorite track because of its anthemic and generally driving sound. The last track “Hero” was the first single released, and something I consider to be a good first move for a new release. It’s bass-driven, cookie-cutter punk with a positive and uplifting tone.
Overall: It’s cool to see all these punk bands coming out of the woodworks and putting forth their best effort to create something that’s nothing less than simply good, and A Bright Sky does that with Reinventing Yourself. If you’re a fan of punk that can keep up with the times, then this is something I’d recommend for your repertoire. It’s available on iTunes.
