My Most Anticipated Releases of 2019 (Part 1)

By in News | 13 Comments

It’s a new year and that means new music! Here’s a few of the releases I’m most excited about in 2019:

Mike Mains & The Branches – When We Were In Love

I’ve been waiting on this album for years now. I first discovered Mike Mains & The Branches on RadioU shortly after the release of their sophomore album “Calm Down Everything is Fine.” I became an instant fan and got to see them play a house show a few years ago. At the time they were talking about heading back into the studio to record a new album. It’s taken them a little while but seems like they are finally on track to release a new album this year. The album will be titled When We Were In Love and is set to be released on Tooth & Nail in early 2019. If you’ve never had the chance to listened Mike Mains & the Branches check out the lead single “Endless Summer” below and pre-order the album here.

Kept on Hold – What We Buried EP

Here’s another release I’ve been waiting on eagerly for awhile now. Pop punk artist Kept on Hold crowdfunded What We Buried on Indiegogo last year. While the EP has encountered a few setbacks hopefully we will see it’s release sometime in 2019. In the mean time though you can check out one of my favorite songs from Kept on Hold’s debut album Promises on Bandcamp.

Madison Cunningham – TBA

Madison Cunningham is one of my new favorite artists that I discovered during 2018. Which is why I’m a little surprised that she is already talking about releasing a new album in 2019 after releasing an EP and four singles just last year. But I ain’t complaining. Especially if the new album embraces the electric guitar like her singles “Beauty Into Clichés” and “All At Once” do.

Switchfoot – Native Tongue

I think we all knew this one would be on my list, right? Switchfoot needs no introductions. Their new album Native Tongue will be released on January 18, 2019. But that hasn’t stopped the band from releasing a slew of singles ahead of it”s release. The title track, “Voices,” and “All I Need” have already been released and a fourth single titled “Let It Happen” is headed to streaming services this Friday.

Ecclesia –  TBA

Who? Ecclesia is a collective of young Christian artists from Lake Worth, Florida. They spent 2018 releasing a steady stream of new singles and hopefully we can expect the same in 2019. The worship band is currently raising money on GoFundMe for a new album. And if you’re wondering why you help them out just listen the song below.

What about you? What new releases are you anticipating the most in 2019?
