Mae is Back and With a Brand New Song

By in News | 5 Comments

After the past decade of just a few new songs here and there or a few re-releases (on vinyl) of their past catalog, the band MAE as a collective unit is BACK! Check out “5 Light Years” below via spotify. The song is available on all digital networks courtesy of Tooth & Nail Records. This reminds me of “Singularity” meets The Postal Service meets Sparta and Modest Mouse served in a bowl of Jimmy Eat World. It is electrifying, experimental, post-whatever everyone else is doing, and simply aggressive. It’s kind of like the Mae we’ve always wanted to hear that was bubbling just beneath the surface. It’ll be interesting to hear what everyone thinks. Comment below with your thoughts.

Funny, the beginning of the chorus kind of reminds me of Switchfoot. I’m not sure which song exactly but maybe “We Are Bound”. But the rest of the chorus reminds me of The Fold. Maybe “Bye Bye Love”.

I definitely got the “We Are Bound” vibe too, big time. That’s an obscure Foot track too, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one 🙂

Just awesome. Mae is all we need. Can’t wait to hear when a release date for the album is.

Never really been a fan, and this hasn’t done anything to change that unfortunately.
