Song of the Day: Further Seems Forever - Monachetti

By in Video Flashback | 6 Comments

For whatever reason, The Moon is Down (2001) is rather inaccessible these days. It’s not on Spotify, or iTunes (R.I.P.), or Apple Music (edit: I’m from Canada). Yet, the quality of the album remains intact after 18 years. It took me all too long to hear “Monachetti,” given I own their compilation Hope This Finds You Well which excludes the track. The song shows an angsty side of Further Seems Forever that I hadn’t heard before, and I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

Great pick! This was my favorite from The Moon Is Down. I could never get into anything else Carraba did, but my cousin and I listened to this album so much, we memorized it, and used to terrorize road trips by belting it out in dueling falsettos.
Weird things are most definitely happening with the Tooth & Nail back catalogue. I went on Amazon to try to buy a physical copy of Starflyer 59’s Americana the other day, and it was selling for $33.

Such a good song! I was just listening to it the other day myself! Great choice, Graham! God bless you, brother!
