Hello Seladora. My name is Stephen and first off I would just want to say thank you for taking the time to answer these questions for our viewers over here at Indie Vision Music.

I’m not sure if any of our members have heard of you yet, would you be able to provide us with some background information on the band? Where are you guys from?

Well 4/5ths of us live in a town called Augusta Georgia(same town the hold the masters golf tournament in) and our vocalist is from Joplin Missouri so we are a little scattered across the country

Where did you get the name Seladora from?

We seem to get this question alot ha, it is actually not too complicated at all.  In old classic poetry the words cellar and door were known as the two most beautiful words.  So we took the word cellar and door and brought them together and we got Seladora

How long have you guys been performing together as a band?

Seladora has been performing for about a year in a half now including the old lineup, but in the past 7 months or so we have gone through alot of member changes and a different style all together.  So I would say with the new lineup we have been performing for about 6 or 7 months.

Describe your overall sound.

This question is always a odd one for us, because we all have different answers.  I think overall if I had to describe it in one word I guess id say unique. Our main focus above all else is obviously the worship side of our music, and devoting every song and everything we do to Christ.  But at the same time we also try to strive for a new song that is still heavy but isnt just filled with breakdowns.

Who are some of your biggest influences?

I think that just depends who you ask in our band haha.  I myself am a huge fan of For Today for their lyrics and their ministry along with Sleeping Giant and With Blood Comes Cleansing.  Their lyrics are so powerful I dont think I can ever sit still when im listening to them.  Alot of the other guys are more influenced by bands like Underoath, August Burns Red, and bands of that nature.

Where does your inspiration come from when you’re writing lyrics?

For me each song is really different when it comes to lyrics.  For Example we have our one song “Fancy that hubert cumberdale” which lyrically is all about being a child of God and finding yourself lost sometimes and looking to get back on the right path.  Then we have “the unusal pros and cons of binary code” which was a more personal song for me.  This song represented my father who was a man of strong faith and strong morals who let it all go and walked away from all of that. So all of our songs are very different in that way, but all of them are always reaching to God for awsners.

I understand your working on a new ep. Can you tell me anything about that?

Heck yea we are all so super stoked for this we have been busting our tails to get this all going.  We are heading too two different studios starting October 17th in Springfield Missouri with Kevin Gates of Engaged Audio he has recorded some awesome acts like Nevershoutnever!, Harp and Lyre, Beneath the Empire, and a crap ton of awesome bands.  Then we head down to Atlanta to finish the other half at Glow in the Dark studios where bands like Underoath, The Chariot, and Copeland recorded.  The E.P is titled “The Restless Wanderers” which is a really cool concept for me lyrically and ive had alot of fun writing it.  Lyrically it is a concept E.P and ive had a blast getting too sit down and write it im really excited for everyone to hear it.  We are shooting for the release date to be on January 16th right around the time we will be going on tour to promote it so we are super stoked.

Your MySpace mentions that you guys are a Christian band. Do you guys see yourself as a ministry band or just a bunch of Christian guys playing music?

It started out as just being a bunch of Christians playing music, but we decided that was not fair.  We needed to be able to reach out to kids and minister to them tell them how awsome the love of God is and how great a feeling it is.  I think for us it all started changing when we started touring we saw so many things everynight that we wish we could change but we realized alone we couldn’t.  So we prayed and prayed and realized we needed to start being more serious in our faith and exposing it too kids at shows in different cities and states.  I think with every show we have matured more and more into a ministry and I would not have it any other way now.

What does it mean to have faith in Christ as a band?

For us thats all this band has become about anymore. We all have fought our own demons and dealt with our own temptations and its been a very tough and long road for each one of us.  But through all of it we have had one another too keep us strong in Christ and strong in eachother.  I honestly think this band would fall flat on its face if it was not for the amazing brothers in Christ that we all share we keep eachother so strong on the road and at home and we always reach for faith before anything.

Is there anything else you’d like to leave with our readers?
