I know there are still a few weeks left of December but for releases, it’s dying down. I have pretty much all the releases for this year that I am going to buy. These titles made my Best of Year List for 2008. Feel free to join our forums and comment. I took out my disappointing picks of the year just because it’s too distracting and isn’t fair to some bands. Anyway, there’s my list, enjoy it for whatever it’s worth. For the record, the album that has reached number one on my list and my favorite of the year goes to Brave Saint Saturn for their masterpiece “Anti Meridian”. I wasn’t the biggest Brave Saint Saturn fan and kind of forgot about them over the years but boy was I stricken with awe upon listening to this fantastic record. I can’t recommend any other album as much as the one from Brave Saint Saturn. That is all……

What about Sophia’s My Morning Migration album?? You didn’t like it that much? or did that not come out in 2008. Hmm, from the list you don’t seem to be too into the hard stuff so maybe thats it. But then again me either, and yet i really enjoy them.

CHINESE DEMOCRACY?!?!
Brandon, you look to have pretty mature/awesome taste in music, and I love a little GNR too… but seriously?
I heard the single off that cd on the radio…. and it was laugh out loud TERRIBLE.
Axel should’ve stopped while he was ahead. Years ago.

Was Axl really ever ahead?
I’ll check out this list soon but one thing I noticed Brandon, I registered for the forums a couple weeks ago and once again never got a confirmation. I’m thinking that this place doesn’t like my Hotmail account because this happened when trying to sign up here at IVM too, heh.

Sorry, never liked their brand of sleazy-metal.

Don’t worry, Trevor. Some of us will give Sophia a bit more notice.

some of us won’t

I love the bash of Chinese Democracy. It’s basically Axl Rose’s solo album but I like it. There are some pretty catchy songs.
I guess I could enlarge my list to my favorite 40 releases and bummp up the “Honorable Mentions” lol. That’s pushing it I think. I’d just like to say that Sophia released a grand, fantastic album this year and I listened to it several times right around the time it came out. I haven’t listened to it much in the past few months though. Maybe that’s why it’s not in my top 30? I dont know, there was just way too many good “Christian” releases this year.

Indeed, this year has been fantastic. I put it right up with 2006 which is another favorite year of mine as far as releases go. I’d hate to see how long a ‘Greatest Albums of All-Time’ list would be for you Brandon. I don’t think you could get it down to 15 albums like JesusFreakHideout did not too long ago.

you’d have to tell brandon top 3 in order to get him to narrow it down to a top 15.
Posted on December 4th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Haha, and who knows if that’d even work.

Oh man, I am terrible with lists. I can never just narrow it down. Greatest Albums of All Time? Sheesh, that would be impossible for me to write out. ha ha.
Posted on December 4th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
my problem isn’t narrowing it down to a few…its after i get past the first 5 or 10 that i’m totally lost

None of my albums are in order by favorites. They are just randomly placed on the list with the exception of Brave Saint Saturn which definitely deserve the top spot.

Brandon,
I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, kind sir.
But I heard a song on the radio the day it came out, and it was insanely bad. I think I actually heard Axel trying to do some metalcore screams or something? It was like write home to your family bad.

So we must be your family then, huh Nater?
Brandon, I dunno, I think if you made an all-time list you’d be able to come up with some clear cut favorites that deserve the top honors but you may have a 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d if you can’t figure out which you like more, haha.
I know I could create a top 15 list since I have a rating system I use but then again I’m also obsessive (like OCD style) with that sort of thing.

Well,
I was hoping that we could build this relationship and hopefully one day you could call me family.
