I doubt I’ll pick up anything today, but this week I definitely aim for picking up Kaboose,Copeland, and Haste the Day.

Perhaps I’ll check out more of Cool Hand Luke sometime in the future.

    2. Josh | October 14th, 2008 | 10:04 am

I got the cool hand luke CD in the mail about 2 weeks ago. It is a very good CD.

Just got backf rom getting the haste the day and copeland

    3. The Headless Horseman | October 14th, 2008 | 11:09 am

I bought Copeland. I’ll get Cool Hand Luke when eMusic refreshes, and I might pick up Haste the Day along the line.

    4. joe m | October 14th, 2008 | 11:20 am

I’m still stuck on New Surrender, so definately not anytime soon. Eventually, I’d like to hear the Haste the Day one.

    5. bloodwater | October 14th, 2008 | 11:41 am

      also out today:
      parachute band - technicolor
this providence - the bright lights EP
      and I think that
Manchester Orchestra - Let My Pride Be What’s Left Behind EP/DVD also comes out today

myspace seems to be having issues right now or I would check

    6. bloodwater | October 14th, 2008 | 12:17 pm

      and Jackson Water’s Supply EP

    7. thirdsaint | October 14th, 2008 | 12:21 pm

I just got Cool Hand Luke’s new one a couple days ago and I’m enjoying it a good deal. I love the use of the piano though as a whole I don’t think this album stacks up to The Fires of Life. Then again, that’s one of my favorite albums ever so that won’t be easy to top.

    8. Tyler.H | October 14th, 2008 | 12:24 pm

      so…review it, thirdsaint?

    9. thirdsaint | October 14th, 2008 | 12:41 pm

Yeah, I was going to. I wasn’t sure if anyone else was going to and if it’s a first come, first serve type of thing. I need at least a few more days with it to give a good review though. It’s still too fresh and I haven’t absorbed it all yet. :-P

    10. Tyler.H | October 14th, 2008 | 12:48 pm

I think we should maybe get a site of some sort like I think Josh was talking about where we talk about which reviews we are going to do, but as far as I’m concerned its all yours. I think the closer to the release date that we can get them the better.

    11. Levi G | October 14th, 2008 | 12:50 pm

Not picking any of these up. Still waiting for my Bayside CD to get here.

    12. thirdsaint | October 14th, 2008 | 12:54 pm

Yeah, that makes sense. I am pretty good about that but I always need time to grasp the music or my reviews tend to be shallow. That is, of course, unless the music is shallow pop and there’s nothing beyond the surface.

On the bright side, after the Maylene/Showbread/Confide/Attack Attack show tonight I should be begging for piano driven music, haha.

And couldn’t a separate forum for reviews be created within the IVM forums where only reviews can access it? That’d be quick and easy.

    13. Tyler.H | October 14th, 2008 | 1:05 pm

Yea I try to listen to stuff as much as possible before I review it, but I try to do it as quickly as possible, fitting in the time whereever i can, its hard for the workin’ man hahaha. i dont know if thats possible about the forums, um, maybe? or maybe an ivm staff twitter or something that makes us sound cool?

    14. thirdsaint | October 14th, 2008 | 1:09 pm

Sounding cool is always good. It’s been a long time since I’ve been an admin of a forum but I’m pretty sure you set up a private forum that’s only viewable by certain user names and you can restrict posting priveledges. I don’t know how this one works though.

Yeah, it’s tough for the workin’ man but luckily for me I have a job that allows me to listen to music in my office WHILE I work. Sometimes I even get paid to write reviews… sorta… hehe. Shhh… don’t tell anyone. :-P

    15. Tyler.H | October 14th, 2008 | 1:12 pm

they took away our listening to music fun time a few months ago, making me sad, but when I have down time I post on here and sometimes write the reviews I post on here :) hooray for down time! sadly, that is becoming a bit more scarce as more responsibilities are laid upon my desk.

brandon has been kinda MIA here lately, sad. he must be a busy guy right now.

    16. thirdsaint | October 14th, 2008 | 1:16 pm

Hey, but at least you aren’t watching work disappear with the economy. I wouldn’t be able to do my job without music though… think I’d go insane… Not that my job is bad or anything, I’ve just always needed music as motivation in college and now, heh.

    17. Tyler.H | October 14th, 2008 | 1:41 pm

i have to go outside on breaks to listen to music so that i don’t go kaboom.

    18. The Headless Horseman | October 14th, 2008 | 2:38 pm

We have a private forum on the IVM boards. We could use that.

And I really want Manchester Orchestra, but I can’t figure out where to get a digital download.

    19. Tyler.H | October 14th, 2008 | 2:47 pm

well, um, maybe nate or brandon could add us poor souls to that private forum?

    20. The Headless Horseman | October 14th, 2008 | 2:47 pm

      Oh, and Brandon’s sick, Tyler.

    21. bloodwater | October 14th, 2008 | 2:55 pm

according to their website, the new manchester orchestra will only be available via independent retail and you can see a list of participating stores by going to http://www.thinkindie.com

    22. Brandon | October 14th, 2008 | 2:55 pm

Hey guys sorry I’ve been MIA the past few days. I’ve been pretty sick and too tired to use the computer. But I am back now.

I have not picked up any new albums this week. I already got sent the Cool Hand Luke stream a month ago and I absolutely love that album. It’s my favorite Cool Hand Luke release.

I still have to listen to some stuff I got in the mail like Lecrae, Kaboose, Andrew Heldin, Writer, Switchfoot, Jon Foreman, and all the other cds I bought or were given recently. I am on music overload right now.

    23. HayngMan3000# | October 14th, 2008 | 7:28 pm

      I really need help.
Does anyone know where i can find the new Dreamer version acoustic guitar chords for “Autumn”.
      I need just the chords.
      Thank you..

    24. John Wayne | October 14th, 2008 | 10:25 pm
