The Almost No Gift To Bring Banner Campaign

Request for IVM Design Help!

Posted by Brandon On October - 6 - 2008

I am sending out this request for design help today. As many of you already know, I had wanted to redesign IVM and relaunch the site with a new flavor. Something cutting edge and ahead of the times. Well, I have not heard from the designer in a month and I am desperate to get something done so that is why I am sending out this request. What I want is a new wordpress driven site with an all new “theme”. Something cutting edge. I happen to enjoy sites like Cinematical, Joystiq, Autoblog, etc. those blog driven sites and I want something similar for this one. Only serious inquiries. If you don’t feel that you can truly redesign our site, working with archives and databases, then don’t contact me. I need serious and talented designers who are willing to do this as freelance work.

This is the most I can offer for your talents. I can pay $100, offer any 6 in stock cds in the store free of charge, allow you to post a link to your design website/company at the bottom of Indie Vision Music.com (with your own unique logo I might add, see current one at bottom), a banner for your company in permanent rotation, and best of all…….10% of all advertising revenues for the next 12 months!! Keep in mind before you get all excited and stuff that we have zero advertisers right now. All the ads you see have been placed up by me free of charge. I do it just so that the sites look official and so that it appears we have advertisers. I will need you, the designer, to create for us a new advertising program as well. I want three different ad sizes on the main page. A top banner, a side banner, and some sort of little graphic that will fit on the side as well.

I know a lot of you reading our site ARE talented designers and have worked with graphic design before. So I am begging you to please help take Indie Vision Music.com to the next level. Please only email me if you are serious about this project. This is a time commitment issue and will take up some precious hours. I do not want this to be some quickly slammed together project where it’s done in like a day and I never here from you again. I need to have you be available during the day for the future just in case we have a problem with the site or I need design changes. The problems I’ve had in the past (no offense to the designers who built this site) has been a lack of communication. I’ve had designers take us to another level and then disappear never to be heard from again. I need YOU the designer to be in contact with me on into the future. I want content, a graphic enhanced website, cool layout and something people will instantly be drawn to.

If this sounds like something any of you are interested in, then please email me brandon@indievisionmusic.com Please post in the email a link to your other website work and graphic designs. Give me a short bio and tell me how you believe you can take IVM to the next level! A sample layout would greatly help me in choosing who I decide to work with. So make me up a sample site on one of your own servers with active content. Once I see what I believe is the best site, I will contact the designer I choose and let you know. The more graphic driven samples you can offer, the better position I’ll be in to choose. Oh and for the record, I am keeping this logo. I have the high resolution file if you need it.

Well that’s it. Now get to work and show me your best stuff!!

P.S. I’m pretty sure that if you’re in college, this work will count as an internship at Indie Vision Music. Contact your local college to find out if you can get credit.

  1. Levi G Said,

    Just some personal opinions:

The example sites you posted are a little too busy/cluttered for my taste, with the exception of maybe Autoblog. I also like the small text of IVM and Absolutepunk compared to the larger formats of sites like Cinematical and Buzzgrinder, at least with this type of site.

I would love to see more store integration with the main site (how about a “new in the store” feature box?).

I like the “recently commented” column, however Wordpress-standard it is.

  2. Nate IVM Said,

Ok… I’ll work on something. No promises tho. This is nothing official. I don’t want to give you false hope like the last few people. I’ll see if I can cook something up.
