I must have missed this a few weeks ago but Zach, the lead vocalist for Take It Back!, has left the band along with Andy. Nick of the band is going to step up and start singing now. They are on the look out for a new Bassist and Guitarist. So now that half the band quit, how do you feel about Take it Back!? They had such a promising career that was just getting off the ground……..
Hey guys, I’m just writing to say that Zack and Andy left the band. They left because God has called them elsewhere. We are very excited for our brothers and for what God will do with them. TIB! is not breaking up, we’re only getting stronger. Nick is going to step up and start singing, so that means we are looking for a bassist and a guitarist. We love every single one of you and we appreciate your prayers and support. Thanks!!!
TIB!

yea this was posted when it happened, but i think that they could still be good, but they won’t be the same band at all.

Name change maybe? Well I guess Comeback Kid lost their singer and they carried on so Take It Back! could probably do the same.

they just need to join up with the dude from dogwood, apologize for stealing his sound, then get him to join the band.

either way, if TIB! breaks up…. I’ll be super pissed.

i don’t think they’re going to be nearly as good anymore, i hope i’m wrong though zach’s voice makes this band what it is in my opinion. but yeah..

Their album is one of the best kept secrets of 2008. It bugs me that way more people should hear who TIB are but haven’t been able to yet.

Ah, this is unfortunate news.
I saw them this summer and picked up their album right quick. It’s just some good downright hardcore punk.
It is definitely a big hit losing Zach, his vocals where what totally gave them a different flare. It was very Comeback Kids sounding.
It’ll definitely be a rawer sound, but hopefully they’ll be able to produce some good stuff.

I’m wondering if the primary voice sound will be the yell (”I won’t forget the things we said here today”), or that sweet scream (”no voice to comfort your aching soul”). Hoping for the latter. Will be good if it is.

they’re done. I put my copy of Can’t Fight the Robots up on the Amazon Marketplace today.

John, that doesn’t seem to make sense to me. You may think they’re going to break up soon (and yeah they could very well), but to sell the album? That is a bit of a non-sequitur there…

Def. a non sequitur fallacy if you view the premise of the band breaking up and my response as selling off the disc. What actually happened was a growing distaste for Take It Back!’s weak lyrics and overall cheap Dogwood vocal approach. I actually never could get into the vox at all, they ruined the experience for me. That distaste led me to question their necessity in my collection. Now I doubt I’ll need it at all.

I listened a tad bit to TIB! on myspace based on your guys’ comments. Dogwood-esque, yes, but hardly a rip-off of the band’s sound. Maybe I need to listen to more songs?

the vocals are very very similar, levi, but they are still very good.

They actually reminded me more of old-mewithoutYou, only more gruff. Don’t you think that Dogwood’s vocalist sounds like he’s actually trying to be melodic?
Posted on September 23rd, 2008 at 6:22 pm
haha yea i guess a little bit more
i cant stand mewithoutyou, ive tried, i just cant.

John - making much more sense now.
Tyler - yes they (TIB!) are very good, however mewithoutYou are better. They did like this scientific experiment and everything…
