Copeland Talk T&N

Click below to see a blog from Copeland about their signing with Tooth & Nail Records.

Hey guys. So at this point you have all heard about us signing to Tooth and Nail Records. This is something that we are all really excited about. Tooth and Nail have been fans of our music from the very beginning, even before our first full length album. Throughout the years, we have made many friends who work at the label.

We talked with several labels after becoming free agents, and in the end Tooth and Nail was the obvious choice for us. They are passionate about our band, and they are some of the hardest working people in the industry.

Keep your eyes peeled for more information on “You Are My Sunshine” between now and October 14. We’re looking forward to seeing you all soon.

  2. John Wayne Said,

They have a shot at T&N’s “Best Release of 2008″ title from me. A certain other band had that shot and royally blew it, so I’m hoping this is good old Copeland. No more elevator music breakdowns please.

  5. Admiral Tobias Said,

Do you mean SHOWBREAD, by any chance? That’s all I think you could possibly mean by that.

  6. John Wayne Said,

Yes, Tyler, it comes with an old bowling trophy

Either the Admiral is a genius or I’m beyond predictable… I’m going with the previous. The man’s a genius!

  8. Levi G Said,

I totally thought you meant Jonezetta the way we’ve been talking about it in the Forums, even though it hasn’t been released.

So why are we dissing the two great Showbread albums?

  9. John Wayne Said,

Nah, expectations for Jonezetta weren’t as sky high as they were for Showbread. Reasons for high expectations:

    New Showbread, ’nuff said.
A cool double album idea. Tons of new music.
    Storybook was intriguing
They had Reese Roper guesting again.
They had Mr Squad Five-O himself listed as a guest which was reason enough alone for me to love this album.

    Reasons for failed expectations:
In creating the huge concept, they forgot to right actual songs.
Anorexia, so dull. Nervosa, much better. Not good enough, though, since one has to take these records together.

Note, Showbread is one of my favorite bands. I still proudly where my “If you don’t like Showbread, you’re an idiot” t-shirt.

  10. Manuel Said,

    You own the albums, John?

Anyone else a fan of Nervosa’s “The Dirt”? Haha, it reminded me of Marlyn Manson for some treason, LOL. ‘Tis an amazing song, though.

  11. John Said,

John Wayne! can’t agree more with your showbread comment!

  12. CoryIVM Said,

Probably the best idea Tooth and Nail has had in years.

  13. Levi G Said,

I very much disagree. My only major complaint about the songs was that the instrumentals become skips, and the vocals are mixed low (but they have to be for the story, so what can ya do?). I can name some songs I really enjoy on both records.

But disagreeing in taste doesn’t prove anything, so…Rock, paper, scissors?

  14. AlexcomestoKILL Said,

maybe Surrogate will get to tour with Copeland
because there music would fit really well together.
and Surrogate could sure use the exposure.
they are by far my favorite tooth and nail band.

  15. John Wayne Said,

Manuel, yes I own both Anorexia and Nervosa.

John, glad to see someone else agrees with my opinions of new Showbread. It’s apparently not the most popular opinion to have.

    Levi, glad you like it.

    Alex, Surrogate rules.
