    It’s All In The Numbers

The Classic Crime has sold a significant number of albums of The Silver Cord.  How many you ask and why is it significant?  Click below to read an explanation from Matt.

To all of you who pre-ordered The Silver Cord or showed up at retail last week, I want to thank you! It’s because of you guys that we can continue to do this.
Normally, I wouldn’t be sharing the exact number, but it is too rich with symbolism to withhold from you!

Last week, including pre-sales, we sold 5805 records.
We are very happy with that number, but we’re more blown away because of these reasons:

    1. When the band first came together, we all lived and practiced together in a house on 219th Street in Mountlake Terrace, WA, about 15 miles north of Seattle. The street address of that house was 5805.

    2. After we moved out of that house, all of our friends and us missed it very much. Some of our friends started getting “5805″ tattoo’s, including Robbie and Alan in the band.

    3. Track 5 on The Silver Cord, which is entitled 5805, is about the memories we had there, and its a tribute to all of the friends we made while living in that house.

The number is of crazy significance… and I can’t tell you how BLOWN AWAY we all were to get our sound scan report today! If we would have sold one more record, it would almost have been amazing. But it is… amazing!

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for “financially appreciating” the hard work we put into our music! We love you all so much!

Hope to see you at Warped Tour soon,

    Matt

      5805 is a lot?

sounds kinda low to me, but thats still a pretty cool story

Wow congratulations to the band. In this economy and with the music industry sagging, that number is good for any “indie” band in the market. I think that number is even bigger than their last album if I’m not mistaken.

Wikipedia says Albatross sold “over 4000 sales” in the first week.

    5. Bobby | July 31st, 2008 | 3:41 pm

idk if thats cool or creepy

For first week, that is good.

Think about it, look at most other first weeks.

If you get over 5,000 for first week, then it is good.

Woah thats really sweet, and has to be more than coincidence! So cool, and so happy for them!

    8. joe m | July 31st, 2008 | 8:08 pm

yay! I’m glad I bought mine.

    9. Manuel | August 1st, 2008 | 10:51 am

for a band their size, that’s excellent. This album is definitely a grower. I’m liking it a lot more now.
