New Festival! Taking Back the Streets 2008

Taking Back the Streets 2008 is a Christian festival in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina from August 21-22. Confirmed bands include: So Long Forgotten, Cool Hand Luke, As Cities Burn, Edison Glass, August Burns Red, Sleeping Giant, Advent, The Glorious Unseen, Grits, Yosemite Mudflap, and few more I can’t talk about yet. All proceeds go to helping Compassion International. A Christian organization that helps impoverished children around the world. Can anyone say the next Purple Door?

score! finally a festival that is only a couple hours away. i’ll have to convince my family to go. sweetness!

    2. Levi G | June 4th, 2008 | 8:20 am

Coolness. Purple Door is way closer to me, though. Nice to see another one of these pop up, though.

    3. bloodwater | June 4th, 2008 | 8:50 am

Yosemite Mudflap is looks/sounds kind of interesting…

    4. bloodwater | June 4th, 2008 | 8:50 am

the wording of that didn’t make sense sorry

    5. bloodwater | June 4th, 2008 | 8:51 am

I wonder if AKissForJersey will be there since that’s their hometown

    6. Ryan | June 4th, 2008 | 10:55 am

      sophia is also playing.

    7. Matt B | June 4th, 2008 | 11:48 am

sophia? great. thanks for letting us know. that’s my best chance to see you guys.

    8. Ryan | June 4th, 2008 | 12:48 pm

sweet. we actually just played in pilot mountain a few weeks back at the venue that is putting on this fest. its going to be a sweet deal.

    9. KazooXcore434 | June 4th, 2008 | 12:56 pm

yosemite mudflap is fun, but i wasnt aware they were a christian band

    10. KazooXcore434 | June 4th, 2008 | 12:56 pm

im pretty sure they are not

    11. The Headless Horseman | June 4th, 2008 | 1:15 pm

Pilot Mountain is a sweet place. Shame I won’t be around there at the time.

    12. The Headless Horseman | June 4th, 2008 | 1:15 pm

Actually, I’ll be checking into college on those days.

    13. sam30 | June 4th, 2008 | 1:57 pm

our resident christian music festival (parachute) suffers from the ccm crowd…in a big way…

and headless, where have you been!?!?

    14. CoryIVM | June 4th, 2008 | 2:35 pm

Bloodwater they will be playing. But you didn’t hear that from me.

    15. CoryIVM | June 4th, 2008 | 2:36 pm

Yosemite Mudflap is probably playing because they are from that area. Then again Conditions is playing too, and they are from Richmond, Virginia and aren’t a Christian band.

    16. Matt B | June 4th, 2008 | 2:38 pm

uhh…. i don’t think ’tis supposed to be a secret taht akissforjersey is playing. it’s advertised on the website.

    17. Phil Recognition | June 4th, 2008 | 4:12 pm

yosemite mudflap is kind of whack. i would go to see sleeping giant and advent again. wooo

    18. CoryIVM | June 4th, 2008 | 4:57 pm

haha are they? My friend was helping book this and told me to keep them a secret. That was yesterday morning so they must have posted it today.

    19. CoryIVM | June 4th, 2008 | 4:58 pm

Yosemite Mudflap is downright hilarious. The only southern metalcore band that keeps my interest.

    20. The Headless Horseman | June 4th, 2008 | 9:29 pm

Hmm. I don’t know where I’ve been. Work, mostly…I suddenly got a ton of hours without warning. Finishing up school…around. I need to catch up on the forums soon.

    21. One Crushing Blow | June 4th, 2008 | 11:48 pm

Yosemite Mudflap isn’t a Christian band, as in ministry…but last time I checked/talked to them, they’re all Christians. They’re just a humor band, and probably don’t feel like incorporating stupid, silly topics with God, you know? Awesome guys, though. Check them out if you haven’t.

Don’t listen to the EP teaser, though. Not saying it’s bad, but the other stuff is worlds better. I think the teaser is pure jokage.

    22. Sam30 | June 5th, 2008 | 2:53 am

good man. thought we’d lost you…

    23. Brandon | June 5th, 2008 | 8:28 am

David One Crushing Blow, WHAT’S UP? I haven’t seen you around in like forever. I hope you’re doing well. Sorry your comment didn’t appear earlier, it got stuck in with the spam comments because of the link you posted. It’s all good now though.

    24. Matt B | June 5th, 2008 | 8:57 am

david! glad to have you back!

    25. bloodwater | June 5th, 2008 | 10:43 am

does the site get alot of actual spam comments?

    26. One Crushing Blow | June 5th, 2008 | 10:50 am

I think any website gets a lot of spam. It’s sad how much time people waste with bots and such. But don’t worry about it. I’ve been spending a lot of time getting ready for school in the fall so I haven’t had time to update you guys. Ended up moving back. Without trying to “slander” as much as possible, the band was a waste of my time, and I wish them the best of luck, but I couldn’t work with them and I decided to use my 2 free years of college back home while I still can.

    27. One Crushing Blow | June 5th, 2008 | 10:51 am

Sorry about the lack of reviewing and interviewing. Moved back before I could get a chance to sit down with Means, so that kind of screwed things over.

    28. Matt B | June 5th, 2008 | 11:38 am

aw man. i’m sorry man. it least you realized it wouldn’t work early on.

    29. One Crushing Blow | June 5th, 2008 | 12:55 pm

Definitely. I’m trying to find something to keep me entertained out here, but man…so hard.

    30. Sam30 | June 5th, 2008 | 1:22 pm

      hey DAVE!!
awesome to see your comments here again!!!

    31. CoryIVM | June 5th, 2008 | 5:23 pm

      you’re alive!

    32. One Crushing Blow | June 6th, 2008 | 12:17 pm

      For the most part, haha.

    33. Lukieduke10 | June 9th, 2008 | 1:59 pm

I heard Ailyne is playing there too!!!

    34. Trevor | June 16th, 2008 | 9:03 pm

Man, I’m so lucky that this festival is only TEN MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE! It’s gonna be sick!

    35. lwkeung | August 23rd, 2008 | 12:34 pm

I just attended it the past two days!
      It was sick!!

They need to have it next year!

    36. CoryIVM | August 24th, 2008 | 5:54 pm

Yeah I hope they move it to the weekend so I can go next year.
