I realize this is a rather old topic, but I dont see that this blog from Brandon (lead singer) was ever posted on here. I was just reading it today and thought it helped explain the Dead Poetic did they/didn’t they break up thing and thought I would post it up here to give hope to those of us who eagerly await the 4th album from Dead Poetic in whatever form or whenever it gets to us. The story of how Year One came to be: In the fall of 2006, This Endearing (Formerly known as Gate City), decided to part ways. Clayton Graves, Chris Robinson, and Kyle Roberts pursued their musical interests with Blood and Ink records band All In, Joseph McQueen began recording bands full time, and Josh Gilbert joined and toured extensively with the band As I Lay Dying. Reconvening in the spring of 2008, Joseph, Josh, and Clayton of This Endearing, along with Marko Gorupic of Birmingham-based local bands Legion and My Reply, teamed up and began writing for a new musical endeavour officially titled, Year One. As the band rounds out its lineup, look out for updates and new songs from their upcoming 4 song demo.  Sounds pretty good, check these guys out!

Rodeia, an indie/rock band that broke up last summer has 4 tracks up on its myspace site for free download.  Check them out.

Tony from Saints Never Surrender has written an interesting blog that is both an apology but also an encouragement to work together in the hardcore music scene.  You can read that here or below the list of upcoming tour dates.  Also in the Saints Never Surrender camp, they recorded a new album back in January/February and will be letting us know the release date sometime soon.

My bros in HANDS have announced that they have signed to Lobster/Oort Records. They have posted up a new song entitled “Returning” and a new version of “Definitions” (which the demo version appeared on IVM’s own Fighting From the Ground Up, Vol. 1) to HANDS’ MySpace. HANDS will be hitting up the tour circuit this summer and again in the fall… Cornerstone and Sonshine are among the dates. Check out the album artwork for The Everlasting EP

So I took down the last poll. It appears that an overwhelming majority of you use Itunes followed closely by Windows Media Player, Winamp, and Zune. I honestly didn’t think people still used Windows Media Player but apparently it still has some good use?

Well I put up a new poll for the new Indiana Jones movie. Vote once you see it. Please don’t vote if you haven’t seen the film yet.

Endeavor the Seas has posted brand new tracks off of their debut demo E.P. I love the direction they are taking with their music. Be sure to listen to the song the Fortress Taken. For fans of Beloved, Life In Your Way, and our good buddies My Epic.

If you’ve been browsing the forums you’ll notice several references to a group called The Rubyz and it’s become some what of an inside joke. Well I visited their official website and kinda chuckled a bit to myself. I knew it wouldn’t take long before the Christian market had to jump in on the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana fever. So if you want to hear some of the poppiest songs ever written, click here and give them a listen. Then make sure you come back to our forums and give Tyler a hard time for harboring a secret crush on their music. Sorry Tyler for name dropping you. ha.

Here’s another good band from Alberta to check out, I give you Jay And The Lovebirds.  They just released a new album called To The Living this month and you can order it by following the instructions below.  Their single Oh The Beds We’ve Made has just been released to radio so hopefully these guys find some success with from it.

Check out Red Letter Anthem here. They kind of sound like Linkin Park or RED (the singer’s voice reminds me of Lyrycyst) but sound good in their own right also.
