all i have to say is:

“My Epic *Appears courtesy of Facedown Records/Dreamt Music”

      heck yeah

    2. Admiral Tobias | May 10th, 2008 | 3:50 pm

So is the David Tamaoka track from Canefield Hero or is it just him?

    3. Brandon | May 10th, 2008 | 4:09 pm

Same thing Admiral. He just goes by his name now. Canefield Hero is still his myspace link though.

    4. Brandon | May 10th, 2008 | 4:10 pm

Just keep in mind everyone that unless My Epic miraculously sends me a new track by Sunday night, then the track on this is the Hearts Bleed Passion version of “You Became I”.

    5. Admiral Tobias | May 11th, 2008 | 3:18 pm

I hear that Isaac Ohman is a little girl

    6. nodes | May 11th, 2008 | 3:34 pm

he pretty much is. that totally isn’t his girlfriend wearing the chucks and fishnets…

    7. John Wayne | May 11th, 2008 | 8:16 pm

      What’s The Dingee’s song?

    8. Jon | May 12th, 2008 | 12:02 am

man. this lineups amazing, i will give it a thorough listen tomorrow at work.

    9. tyler h | May 12th, 2008 | 9:02 am

oh mannnnn. i want. i want.

    10. Steve | May 12th, 2008 | 1:26 pm

This file is too large to download, my internet times out and I have to restart. Next time consider making smaller seperate zip files please.

    11. Brandon | May 12th, 2008 | 8:45 pm

There, I seperated them into two seperate zip files. Try downloading them again.

    12. Matt B | May 12th, 2008 | 8:55 pm

whaaaat… now i have to download it again for the bonus tracks. ughhh, life is rough :)

    13. John Wayne | May 13th, 2008 | 6:49 am

“Bad Bad Me” by Value Pac is one of my favorite songs ever…

    14. fusse | May 13th, 2008 | 7:05 am

Well that’s a good way to get more downloads (to add couple extra cuts to separate files) ;) At least made me download em all again.

    15. bloodwater | May 13th, 2008 | 8:57 am

it’s too bad lifestory:monologue never ended up putting a track on…maybe next time

    16. Brandon | May 13th, 2008 | 9:46 am

Yeah there is definitely always a next time ;) I think I might do Hearts Bleed Passion Vol. 4 at the end of summer/fall.

    17. bobbythebuff | May 13th, 2008 | 10:52 am

how do i get it to where i can put the banner in a myspace bulletin?

    18. jim | May 13th, 2008 | 11:06 am

wow, great job guys. i like a lot!

    19. _pole | May 13th, 2008 | 11:50 am

Thanks a LOT for this! We all propably have no idea how much work went into this fine collection of songs.

Let me say though, that there is something you could have done that would raise the appreciation of samplers like this one. And that is a full size artwork in a pdf file so that those who still love cds (like me) can “produce” a real cool looking cd for the shelve.

Also an arranged order of the songs, consistent filenames and id3 tags could help, as the would make the sampler look more like a sampler and less like a bunch of files crammed into a zip file.

Just a thought (well, two). That said, I’m listening right now and am very pleased with what I HEAR! :)

    20. brett | May 13th, 2008 | 11:53 am

i really like the echoing green song. i’m pleased with this comp. it’s got some really good stuff on it.

    21. Brandon | May 13th, 2008 | 12:09 pm

Bobbythebuff- go to http://www.myspace.com/indievisionmusic and grab a banner from there. The code is listed on the myspace page.

    22. John Wayne | May 13th, 2008 | 12:17 pm

I agree with _pole. The poor quality, low res art and the impossibility of making this comp play in order in iTunes without tons of adjusting is the only complaint I have. Other than that, I’m really digging a lot of the bands. Thanks Brandon!

    23. fusse | May 13th, 2008 | 12:18 pm

Hey I have actually been thinking the very same things as _pole - I ended up doing all that to Fighting From The Ground Up Vol. 1 manually after wards and I probably end up doing the same for this.

But it would really give these a bit more “pro” feeling if the file names were all in similar style, id3 tags proper and tracks numbered…

But awesome job putting all these compilations together Brandon!

    24. Brandon | May 13th, 2008 | 12:33 pm

Hey guys, if I could have 320kbps files of each song, I’d totally do it but alot of the bands just send them to me at 128kbps or 192kbps. I dont understand what you mean by it wont play in order in Itunes? I’m confused. I wrote down the exact number of tracks and the order they play in above. I deleted them all from my itunes several times and imported the folder and that is the order I get every time. I”m also confused by what you mean of ID3 tags proper? Did I not do something right?

    25. tyler h | May 13th, 2008 | 1:08 pm

brandon, right click on the first song and look at the “info” section…if you scroll through those you’ll see the inconsistencies…but its a pretty minor point

    26. Brandon | May 13th, 2008 | 1:22 pm

Yeah I tried to get a bunch of songs to be the number one listed song but it didn’t work. For some reason The Comeback Tour shows up everytime in the number one position. I didnt want them to be the first track but oh well, I couldnt change it no matter what I did. So I left several songs with the track# of 1 in the properties. There are other double track#s as well. Is that what you guys are referring to as the ID3 Tag?

    27. brett | May 13th, 2008 | 3:30 pm

if it bothers you all that much then you can go in manually and change the track number for each song.

    28. Admiral Tobias | May 13th, 2008 | 4:13 pm

I like how it’s Summer Slam Vol. 2…and it comes in 2 volumes.

    29. tyler h | May 13th, 2008 | 4:20 pm

brett, i think what they are bothered by is the fact that they have to change it themselves…kids these days is picky and lazy when it comes to getting free stuff

    30. _pole | May 13th, 2008 | 5:02 pm

It’s not so much about lazyness. Those who care will edit the files, everyone else will just play the files in whatever order the player of their choice lets them.

It’s about how the product “Summer Slam Vol. 2″ is being percieved by the downloaders. Prefessionalism is a good thing here, don’t you think?

    31. Admiral Tobias | May 13th, 2008 | 5:05 pm

The lyrics on that Mojo and the Info. song are freakin’ amazing. That song left me in shock. Really cool Echoing Green song, too.

    32. _pole | May 13th, 2008 | 5:16 pm

Uhm, somehow my posts got deleted.

Anyway: iTunes uses ID3 tags, but in a different way than most other programs. If you want to really see what you are doing you can use winamp (that’s what I use because I’ve got it installed already, works fine) or one of the programs that are just ID3 tag editors.

    33. Kelly | May 14th, 2008 | 1:53 pm

KESSLER IS AMAZING!!! Thanks for including them on Summer Slam Vol.2!

    34. Brandon | May 14th, 2008 | 3:46 pm

No problem Kelly! I’m glad you like it.

    35. tyler h | May 14th, 2008 | 3:54 pm

wow that was excitement, is she in the band? haha

    36. brett | May 14th, 2008 | 5:02 pm

a little disappointed about there being no hip hop on this one. i’m not trying to be a downer, because i like the comp. but come on, who doesn’t listen to hip hop at least a little over the summer?

    37. Brandon | May 14th, 2008 | 5:23 pm

I guess I could have gotten some hip hop but honestly I didn’t think about it. Maybe next one.

    38. nodes | May 14th, 2008 | 9:36 pm

yeah, i made the artwork at 700×700 at 72 dpi. next album i do, i’ll do it at print resolution and shrink it down.

for now, here is a link to a bigger version of the artwork.

      http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a218/isaacore/bigcover.gif

    39. _pole | May 15th, 2008 | 3:18 am

      Ah, that’s better! :)

    40. Chris | May 15th, 2008 | 2:36 pm

is this comp better than the last one?

    41. Brandon | May 15th, 2008 | 2:58 pm

Depends on your taste. It’s got a wide variety of music but there are definitely more well known bands on this one.

    42. Admiral Tobias | May 15th, 2008 | 4:01 pm

The Human Flight Committee = schizos. Awesome band.

    43. crack pot | May 16th, 2008 | 4:51 pm

there some really good stuff in here!
      :P

    44. Eric | May 16th, 2008 | 5:02 pm

Brandon, why are the bonus tracks crossed out now?

    45. Brandon | May 16th, 2008 | 5:17 pm

Because they were in one of the “split” files and I can’t upload those until my computer is fixed at home.

    46. Chris | May 17th, 2008 | 11:47 pm

Brandon, it’s a very good even though it didn’t have Value Pac and Off The Record.

    47. Chris | May 17th, 2008 | 11:48 pm

I hate typos anyways it’s a good compliation

    48. Brandon | May 18th, 2008 | 9:16 am

Thanks Chris. I’ll get the Value Pac and Off the Record downloads up as soon as my computer is fixed.

    49. Christopher | May 19th, 2008 | 5:50 pm

I’ve got the split downloads, I can send you the two songs if you want me to.

    50. fusse | May 20th, 2008 | 3:44 am

Tyler h… Same thing what _pole said. It’s not about laziness but giving it a bit more pro feeling. And like me, not everyone uses iTunes (I use Winamp and sticking to it). And I don’t think I can be counted into ‘kid’ category anymore… ;)

    51. Chris | May 22nd, 2008 | 11:31 am

      Thank you Brandon

    52. Aaron | June 14th, 2008 | 11:43 am

I am extremely glad that All the Day Holiday is on this sampler. They are soooo good.
