I had a dream Seventh Star decided to play the show my band is in a few weeks. How amazing would that be? hahaha. That place would be PACKED. But yeah. Didn’t really care for the video. Not saying it was bad, just…the whole “teenage angst” thing is something I’d expect from bands like From First to Last or Emery. Oh, and to Phil: I have no problem with their lyrics. As my review stated. If anyone else cares to re-review that cd, go for it. I just think this cd, while not horrible, will be nothing compared to their next. I don’t think it’s generic as much as…not their best? I can hear their potential. It’s weird.

They are somewhat generic, but they do some things a lot of metalcore bands don’t.

Additionally, generic doesn’t equal bad.

i’m not a fan personally. sorry, just being honest. i find their music to be a lot like all hte other metalcore bands that want to be as hard as ac/dc. having said that i know they’re really talented and probably fully awesome guys. just like for today.
but yeah give me seventh star over them any day.

john, you’re a good dude and all, but when i think of generic, i don’t think of for today. i think of oh sleeper, inhale exhale, cry of the afflicted etc. there’s generic in every genre. and hating on a label won’t change that.

while i’m gonna be honest and say that the band isn’t really my thing, they are a talented bunch of musicians.
the singer actually sounds a whole lot like the singer of an old NZ band - Upheld…their music style is somewhat similar too…www.myspace.com/upheld…if you like For Today you should check them out.
