    New T&N Division

So what do you guys think about this new division of Tooth and Nail Records called Fugitive Recordings? They should sign New Found Glory!

I was wondering why when I was looking at the new Presidents of The United States of America cd on the zune marketplace it said Tooth and Nail Records. I thought it was just a misprint. I guess not.

New Found Glory is on Bridge Nine aren’t they?

    2. Brandon | April 3rd, 2008 | 10:07 pm

No, I believe New Found Glory are unsigned at the moment. They are just on Bridge Nine for that one double CD release with International Super Heroes of Hardcore (their alter egos).

Isn’t it policy to bold secular bands instead of linking to them? Not trying to nitpick, just curious.

    4. Eric | April 4th, 2008 | 12:33 pm

      Headless,

IVM has no policy. We do whatever we want because this is America and you can’t take away my freedom, especially freedom of the press. That’s the first amendment!

(Seriously though, I don’t think we have a lot of official policies for things like that. Not yet anyway. That would require way more organization that isn’t totally worth the effort. For now, it’s just up to the individual writer to decide. Personally, I link to all bands I mention, although I do notice some other news posters being more strict.)

i think they either bought out made in mexico. or changed the name of MIM to fuguitive and wen’t from there.

      thats what i heard….

    6. Brandon | April 4th, 2008 | 12:49 pm

I should be flogged! haha. Speaking of this T&N Sub Division, they should go after Finch too. That band is unsigned as well.

    7. Levi G | April 4th, 2008 | 12:49 pm

Yeah. Strict site rules = annoying unless necessary.

    8. Matt B | April 4th, 2008 | 2:52 pm

yeah. as long as the writers use common sense

    9. JoshIVM | April 4th, 2008 | 2:53 pm

Are they really a sub-division or a separate entity entirely? I wonder.

    10. Tyler H | April 4th, 2008 | 3:15 pm

if they have the t/n logo on it wouldnt that make it a subdivision?

    11. Brandon | April 4th, 2008 | 3:39 pm

Well I’m sure it’s a seperate entity but it’s still under the same umbrella and I’m sure they still have the same EMI distribution.

    12. John | April 4th, 2008 | 4:33 pm

GO AFTER THE LIVES OF FAMOUS MEN!

this is blatantly just for the money, tooth and nail! i can see through this

    13. The Headless Horseman | April 4th, 2008 | 5:50 pm

…Or Brandon Ebel enjoys signing bands, and thinks there are some good unsigned bands that don’t fit under the T&N umbrella as it was.

    14. JoshIVM | April 4th, 2008 | 6:50 pm

I would have preferred for this label to exist with some prior T&N/SS bands that weren’t Christian (The Agony Scene, Stretch Arm Strong, etc). Instead of putting those bands on a label which most assumed to be Christian. But anyways, I don’t mind this label, actually I’m supportive of it, as long as they keep the labels separate, which I think they will.

    15. Brandon | April 5th, 2008 | 12:37 am

Maybe they should move He is Legend over to Fugitive?

    16. Jeremie | April 5th, 2008 | 4:22 am

So if i’m correct, this label is for non-Christian bands, right?

    17. Admiral Tobias | April 5th, 2008 | 6:35 am

Apparently. This would solve the mystery of Dolour’s Suburbiac saying it’s from T&N on iTunes. Type in FugitiveRecordings.com, and you’re greeted by his giant face.

    18. Levi G | April 5th, 2008 | 6:50 am

But their current website seems to be http://fugitive-recordings.com/

    19. JoshIVM | April 5th, 2008 | 7:01 am

That Dolour album came out years ago if I remember correctly. Levi is correct about the web address.

    20. Eric | April 5th, 2008 | 2:50 pm

      John,

If you get down to it, all business is for the money, Christian or not. Yes, some of them can have the potential to double up as a ministry or whatever, but at its core definition, it wouldn’t be a business if they weren’t trying to make a profit.

    21. Manuel | April 6th, 2008 | 7:08 pm

He Is Legend needs to get their sorry butts off of T&N. Did that sound un-Christ-like? :(

    22. Levi G | April 7th, 2008 | 12:27 pm

Yes. But I can understand where you’re coming from.

    23. Brandon | April 7th, 2008 | 12:43 pm
