Tooth & Nail Signs A Dream Too Late

I was randomly going through my friends on myspace and listening to the band’s I didn’t recognize. Well, I was as surprised as you are now, when I saw A Dream Too Late listing they were signed to Tooth & Nail. I checked the member pages and they also said that, as did their website news section. Apparently they just recently wrapped up the recording in Nashville. No more word for now. Thoughts?

So what does everyone think of this new signing?

      reminds me of weaks end.

the song has grown on me, but this band sounds like it will be too much of a rip off of several mainstream bands (such is the case for cry of the afflicted, destroy the runner, ruth)

      we’ll see….?

    8. Brandon | February 4th, 2007 | 11:40 am

      I agree Jason.

I would like you to take into consideration that the song posted on their myspace has been on there for over a year. I have been informed that they have taken a different route musically and have dropped this old post hardcore sound.

So I guess we will see what’s going on when their record hits i suppose..

I saw these guys live a few weeks ago and they sound nothing like the song on their profile. From what I understand, these guys were a typical emery style band and were doing well with it. They even had offers from a couple of different indie labels, including Fueled by Ramen. They completely disappeared for a whole year and came back with news of the T&N signing and a completely new sound.

They worked with Steve Wilson who did the Jonezetta album. I’m not sure how to describe their new music, but I liked it.

    11. bling | February 13th, 2007 | 2:04 pm

Hey where did you see them Max?

    12. Len | February 13th, 2007 | 4:33 pm

I love how people do research.

    13. P-P | February 13th, 2007 | 5:51 pm

I don’t find them really original, a kind of old Emery… same kind of scream and break down…

I actually saw them play on New Year’s eve in Seattle with The Listening and Falling Up. I went to see The Listening (amazing) and ended up really liking the opening act, which was a dream too late. When I went home and listened to the stuff on their myspace I didn’t think I had the right band. Sure enough, looking through the pictures proved it was true.

When I talked to their guitarist after the show he had told me things had changed quite a bit but dang. It’s like a different band. They almost should have changed their name.

Brandon didn’t want to sign them unless they changed their style. he said he didn’t want to sign another band like that to his label. which is why they changed their style in production in nashville. they have been thru alot and nothing all at the same time over the last two years.

I saw them the other night in Medford, OR and they arent scremo anymore… at first i was a little thrown off but i really enjoyed it. They put on a really good show, fun to watch and were really good with the crowd.. should be a good record from the sounds of it
