    [Listening To:] Cue The Doves

[So I figured this should be a day for new things. First the IVM Radio was launched and now I've to decided to go ahead with my plans for an IVM Street Team. So what I need is some people who'd like to help out with some online advertising (myspace's, xanga's, message boards) and possibly further one with some flyer work and stickers as well. (Obviously stickers cost money so we'll have to wait and see on that one) I'd like to get some people from different age groups. If you are interested please shoot me an email by clicking my name above and give me some info about yourself and where you're from and all that. Remember this is a work in progress. Thanks!

    [Listening To:] Antestor

    [
Pistis In Him Alone, who are calling it quits soon, have posted 4 new songs at their myspace. The 5th track is at BandsOnFire.com’s myspace.
The whole EP will soon be up for download as soon as they get everything for it. It’s sad to see them go, so please check it out and bid them farewell.

    We are tech savvy.

    [

Finally we are joining the legions of tech savy websites by hosting our own music player. I have long wanted one of these but didnt know how to do it. Well thanks to my pal Josh, we are finally able to have our own. I just uploaded three songs up there for the heck of it. I’ll spend more time later trying to get these songs perfected and labeled correctly.

    ——————
Well everyone, I finally found a music player suitable for the site after quite awhile. We here at IVM are poor and couldn’t afford to have one made but Erik over at GoIndies! was nice enough to let me use his design. It worked out even better because the coloring matches as well.

Anyways the player can be found right next to the banner ad above. We’ll be adding more songs as we go and some other cool things so keep listening. The player right now only works while you’re on the main page but hopefully we’ll be remedying that soon. Thanks for your continued support!

Fireflight has partnered with FYE to offer a pre-order for “The Healing Of Harms” for $8.99 and the cover will be signed by the group. I will have a review up soon for this album and I highly recommend buying this album!

Twelve Gauge Valentine, new artist on Solid State Records, have posted “Casket Junkie” off their upcoming release, “Shock Value”.

[Listening To:] The 80’s Movie Soundtrack

[As Cities Burn, have decided, thankfully, not to break up but instead are taking a year off to write a new album. Apparently this is due to the many emails & conversations they’ve had with the fans recently. All members are returning to record. The official statement can be found at the link.

A new featured band is up. I felt like showing my love to Pennylane because those guys have been a hard working band for years. Anyway, check these guys out and buy a cd or download their album here.

    Transformers & IVM

    [

I found this pic on the internet from the new Transformers movie. It’s of a certain transformer important to the film. I’d rather not list names to keep this post from being taken down. Here is the pic. Comment with your thoughts.

Since Indie Vision Music is all about the Nu-Metal, I thought I’d toss a band your way. They aren’t half bad: This Fires Embrace.

    Some cool You Tube stuff:

If you’re feeling sentimental towards the past, here is a Slick Shoes video for you.

For those of you not into punk, how about some Strongarm

    Uprising Fest

    News.Yay.

    [

FM Static has three new tracks up on their MySpace page.

Joy Electric have completed work on their next album, The Otherly Opus, which should be out sometime early next year.

Mxpx have recorded three new songs with Aaron Sprinkle that will appear on the re-release of the popular B-sides album, “Let it Happen”. What a weird Mxpx album to re-release. They should have re-released “Life in General” with bonus tracks.

Last Tuesday have a new song featured over at the Purple Door Festival MySpace page. So who is going to Purple Door this year? Please comment. I am “hoping” to have some shirts made up in time for a few of our staff members to represent at the fest. If not, there are always our stickers to hand out ;)

We will have the exclusive free Dogwood download within the week. I am sorry to all of you that have been waiting patiently for it. It’s my fault for promoting the release so early. The band actually had some issues in the studio where the vocal tracks got messed up, so they are recording them again. I am eagerly anticipating this new stuff, how about you?

Lastly, I am thinking about changing the text under our logo. This is just an idea and is up in the air at this point. I liked the old tagline I used in the past of “Independent Music. Independent Vision.” which some of you may recall from all of our old stickers/ads. What do you think if I changed the text under our logo to that old tagline? Is that dumb? Do you like “Faith and Entertainment With an Independent Perspective” better?

    New MySpace

    [

Okay so I finally changed the MySpace layout for the first time in like 2 years. Click here to view it and then let me know what you think. I also uploaded 4 new songs to the player.

Forever Changed “Chapters” is in stores nationwide today on Floodgate Records. I encourage everyone to go out and buy this great album. I really enjoy it and despite Eric’s review, I still think it’s a great album ;) I’m just kidding you Eric.

Two great albums from Facedown/Strike First Records are also in stores today:
    Alove for Enemies “Resistance”
Within “The End is Near…Consider Yourself Warned”
    Order them here.

Fordaylight has some new tunes on their MySpace page.

Seven System have a new video on their myspace.

The new Dogwood track is coming, I promise. I haven’t heard back from the band but as soon as I do, you’ll all know. Please stay tuned to the Summer Slam! page here to see when the new download is posted. Hopefully tonight.

Read an interview with xDeathStarx right here.

Check out this great worship band, The Glorious Unseen.

Also, Josh, Len, Eric, and Chuck will be taking over duties here at Indie Vision Music when I depart for my vacation soon. I wont have much time to update the site so stuff like the featured band slot will remain the same (starting when the next band is posted in a day or two). Also I will most likely be absent from the news section for several days at a time. I’m sure you wont miss me. haha.

    Yes… some weird news

[The longest canoe in the world

Canadian man trades red paper clip all the way up to get a house

No… there will be no Dracula theme park

    Oldest person on Earth?

    A Polar Bear Jail

Google is now a word in the dictionary
Another version of the same story.

    [Listening To:] Holy Soldier

[I posted 3 new reviews today, the first two release tomorrow.

    ALove For Enemies “Resistance”
Within “The End Is Near; Consider Yourself Warned”
    DecembeRadio “DecembeRadio”

As always replies and comments are welcome! I will have a few more reviews tomorrow as well from The Gentleman Homicide, Freaked! Tribute To DC Talk, My Other Band, and Flatfoot 56. Stay tuned.

    [Listening To:] The Gentleman Homicide

[According to their myspace, Anam Cara, is dead. Not only that, the upcoming tour with xDeathstarx was cancelled, so the band will only have a few local shows before they finish. The announcement included a note telling people to watch out for a new project soon, which I will let you know as soon as I do.

Lorien has posted the new track, “You Got Me Down”.

    [Listening To:] DecembeRadio

[Two upcoming major network television appearances:

Flyleaf are performing on Jimmy Kimmel tonight, which starts at 12:05 EST on ABC.

Family Force 5 (Gotee) will be performing on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson this Friday (July 14th). The show starts at 12:35am EST on CBS.

    The Unfolding

[More bad news for The Unfolding. Not only did they lose their second vocalist earlier this year but now they are losing three more members, Bradley, Nathan, and Tyler. So that leaves only two original members in the band–Kyle and Dan. The band intends to replace all the departing members and continue on with a new lineup.

    Anberlin Live

    [

So I saw Anberlin live last night with some little band called Hawthorne Heights ;) What I can tell you is this, Anberlin were powerful. Both in stage presence and musicianship. They benefited from the huge scope of the Pacific Amphitheater and their massive sound setup. The band played hits from both “Never Take Friendship Personal” and “Blueprints for the Blackmarket”, including their hit remake of “Love Song” by The Cure. The highlights being “Paperthin Hymn” “A Day Late” and “Glass to the Arson”. Amazing. The band also laid out a new song upon us titled “The Lesser Thans” and it was an incredible piece of music. Their new album is slated to come out in April of 07′ and it’s one that will be at the top of everyone’s favorite list come next year. The band played about a 45 minute-1 hour set (I can’t remember how long) and it was a true representation of their talent and the potential this band has to go big. If you get a chance to see Anberlin in a large venue with good sound, I encourage you to go! Oh and this little Hawthorne Heights band played too though we left halfway through. I cannot believe how many fans this band has in The OC. It’s crazy.

There is this local band from around our area called Hollowell that I want you all to check out. They’re great.

    [Listening To:] Lecrae

[Lecrae has a new e-card for his new album dropping August 8th called “After The Music Stops”. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
