    Sullivan Cares

[Sullivan has an exclusive shirt at Hot Topic right now, and if you buy that and take a crazy picture of yourself wearing it, you can send it to them and enter a contest for a Sullivan hoodie, signed copy of Hey, I’m a Ghost, signed poster, and Sullivan will put you in their Top 8 on MySpace.

Sullivan will also be on tour this summer with Dead Poetic and Showbread.

    Some Good Bands….

[I was doing some myspace work for the site and I ran across some insane bands I had forgot about. If you're into metal or metalcore check them out. It's great to see such a wave of Christian acts blessed with such talent. Most of these artists are unsigned or on small labels as of now.

    Besieged
    Called To Arms
    Deus Invictus
    Exodus In Peril
    fixed til Tuesday
    Gate City
    Horsemen Of The Apocalypse
    Remove The Veil
    The Beauty The Blood
    The Burning Issue
    The Moth Leads The Empire
    Underneath The Gun
    When Sorrow Fails

The folks at Selah Records are going on a hiatus. They don’t expect it to be long but some are pursuing some other things and are all taking a break. They’ve reduced the prices in their store, there are some great releases here for cheap.

Go check out the new War Of Ages & xDeathstarx covers here. Both release this Fall on Facedown Records.

    Josh Dogwood Venue

    [

Josh from Dogwood has his own venue in Southern California. The name and address is below:
    Rialto Music Coalition
    225 S. Riverside Ave.
    Rialto CA 92376

If you are in a band and you want to contact Josh about playing a show there, click here.

    My Darkness

[Destroy The Runner have unleashed the first track, “My Darkness” from their upcoming release “Saints” due this September on Solid State Records. Expect this band to blow up!

    Dogwood

[Dogwood have changed their songs on MySpace. Click here to check them out. They posted my favorite, “Do or Die”! Look for a brand new Dogwood track as part of our exclusive online compilation.

    Any punks left?

[Check out Nothing Left To Lose a sweet band in the vein of Bad Religion and Rise Against. The newest release is called “The Last Battle Hymn” and is out on Zero Youth Records. Check a video of “Mark My Words”  here.

Also, from Andreoli Records (owned by the same persona as Zero Youth), comes Hope Vol. 1. It’s a charity compilation to raise money for Stand Up For Kids. It’s a mix of Christian & nonChristian punk groups from all over and includes Hanover Saints, The Deal, FBS, Flatfoot 56, and more.

    mewithoutYou

[mewithoutYou's third release through Tooth & Nail is set to come out September 26th, and will be titled Brother, Sister. [absolutepunk]

check me out… no seriously, check me OUT!

[I just posted my review for the new Underoath album. But really, don’t waste your time reading this. Just go buy the CD already.

    It’s Been Awhile

[I know some of you were curious about the new FM Static cd. Well it’s being released August 1st on Tooth & Nail and is entitled “Critically Ashamed” and I will let you know when new music is up.

Speaking of cd releases, the Album Release List has been updated with complete upcoming lists from Facedown/Strike First/Gotee and more.

Gotee artists have been doing very well on radio, with their debut artists StorySide:B, Fighting Instinct, & Aieysha Woods landing in top charts and also adds to various outlets.

The Showdown had to drop off the dates in MI, WI, and MO (on the current It Dies Today/Haste The Day tour) due to Andrew partially disclocating his shoulder in Grand Rapids. They hope to be back by the Nashville date.

    HALO 3: Revealed

    [

Bungie has released a mini-documentary about Halo 3. You can view that video here. The game will release on the Xbox 360 sometime next year. I am officially excited.

    Decoymusic.com reviews My Epic

[Read this great review from Decoymusic.com about the My Epic album.

    Spongebob Wears Prada

[This may be old news, but The Devil Wears Prada has a grindcore cover of the Spongebob Squarepants theme song at their myspace that you can download.

Chuck and I are 20! (yay for golden b-days!)

[Well.... Chuck and I are 20 today, the same day, the same golden b-day, on June 20th.

CDs released on our b-day (among others) are:
Underoath’s Define the Great Line (Tooth and Nail)
Your Eyes My Dream’s Weapons are Useless (Indianola)

On one last note, Death is Not Welcome Here is touring the US starting on June 23rd in Warsaw, Indiana. Check out their myspace for full tour dates and if they are coming to a venue near you, check them out! If they are not and you know of someone in that area, tell those people to check them out.

    Avery Pkwy & Sophia

    [

The new Avery Pkwy full length is scheduled to come out in mid-July. It will be released independently and the songs are already shaping up to be awesome! This is the solo project of Joel Piper who used to the be the drummer for Dismissed. Check his stuff out here.

The day is finally here. Sophia have posted a brand new track to their MySpace page.

Inhale Exhale has a new song on myspace.

Dogwood is going to change their songs on MySpace within a day or so. There old songs folks but some goodies will be up there.

    Stephen Christian Anberlin

    [

Stephen Christian of Anberlin has a solo project as many of you already know. Well he is now naming it “Anchor & Braille”. He will be finishing up songs this fall and the full length will be released on Tooth and Nail in April of 2007. You can hear two songs right here.

Dogwood have a huge show planned for July 4th at the enormous Coors Ampitheater in Chula Vista, CA. with P.O.D, Thyne Scabbard, Fallen Away, Kirk Franklin, and many more. Dogwood plays on Stage 2. The show is FREE ($10 for parking). More info here.

This Providence has posted a new song to their MySpace page.

Hunting Demons apparently requires a helmet.

[For all you Demon Hunter fans out there, Interpunk is currently running a contest to win a bunch of DH stuff, including a one of a kind painted helmet. I don’t care if you’re not iterested in signing up, click here just to check out the awesomeness of this helmet.

new Underoath= mind blowing, Downloadable Summer Samplers are my favorite new trend

    [
I just came home from purchasing the new Underoath album via Circuit City because when you buy it there you get a free t-shirt (now, hearing all I could get was a large was slightly disappointing to a kid used to wearing smalls, but hey, it’s free). What I heard on the way home was amazing. I shall try to have a review up tomorrow night, Thursday at the latest.

According to the card inside the cover (and of course I got the special edition with the DVD and amazing art), if I go to purevolume.com/onedarksummer I can get “over 30 free songs from Tooth & Nail and Solid State artists! Featuring new and unreleased songs from Underoath, Anberlin, Norma Jean, Emery, The Almost, Mae, mewithoutYou, Dead Poetic, The Chariot, He Is Legend, As Cities Burn, and many more!” This is really weird, because I went there to find 17 already released songs from only some of those bands.

But even though this summer sampler is not quite what I expected, Facedown/ Strike First have a pretty good one right here. I think I like this new trend.

    The Unfolding Heroes

    [
Sleeby.com is currently running a contest where you can win The Unfolding’s CD. I don’t know if this is really worthwhile news though because you should have already bought this album from our webstore.

According to this book, all of our favorite superheroes have Jewish origins.

And it is as I predicted months ago, it took a new release from Underoath to knock Panic! At the Disco off the number one spot on PureVolume.com

    Inhale free music

[According to a myspace bulletin just sent by Inhale Exhale, they will have a new song posted tomorrow that you can actually DOWNLOAD.

If you buy the new Underoath tomorrow (which you should), you will get  a free download card from Tooth & Nail/ Solid State, but if you can’t wait that long, you can just click here and get the sampler now. Chances are that you have almost all of these songs already, but there’s a few that make it worthwhile (such as Fair).

    The Working Title

[As I mentioned before the Working Title has a new video coming for “The Mary Getaway”, well here’s a behind the scenes video for you to watch until then.

    News just in…..

[Quick and the Dead are entering the studio this week to record a new full length that will be released in the fall. I’m not sure if this is on a label or not, but I believe it is still being released independently. The band is also playing Joshua Fest, Tom Fest, and a string of dates with The Fold. Check the band out here and give them your support, they are awesome.

    Music to Check Out…Stellar Kart

    [

    Check out these two bands:

    The Art of Abandonment
    Bosc

I got the pre-release for the new Stellar Kart album today. This is a great summer cd. No seriously, it really is. High gloss well perfected pop-punk with postive uplifting lyrical delivery. Imagine if Punchline, Mxpx, and Hawk Nelson ran into each other and collided with The Starting Line. I’m gonna get flamed for recommending this band but I’m doing it, so what. You want to start something, I could totally take you ;) ha. The album “We Cant Stand Sitting Down” hits stores nationwide on July 25th.
