    New Indie Review, Summer Drive

[I just posted a review for The Apathy Eulogy, an independent band out of Baltimore, Maryland. You can read that review here.

Summer is basically here, and with summer comes the need for a certain type of music… here are 10 of my recommended albums:

The Rocket Summer - Hello, Good Friend
    Discover America - Psychology
    MxPx - Panic
The Fold - This Too Shall Pass
    Relient K - Mmhmm
The Apathy Eulogy - Things Hoped For, Things Unseen
Movies with Heroes - Nothing Here Is Perfect
Five Iron Frenzy - All the Hype That Money Can Buy
The O.C Supertones - Chase the Sun
Further Seems Forever - The Moon Is Down

Also, I’ve been getting into Spoken’s most recent album, Last Chance to Breathe, a lot lately. If you don’t have that one, it’s worth checking out.

    My Epic

[I have decided to take over media relations/promotions for the band My Epic. I love their music and I believe in them as a band. I only want to help them succeed in getting their name out there in the music community and nothing more. It’s with my hope that you’ll see their name blasted everywhere in the coming months. Their music is simply awesome and their message, powerful. My Epic deserve recognition. So with that said, look for a media blitz to blast it’s way across your screens in a powerful way these next few months…….stay tuned….oh and they will be signed if I have anything to do with it ;)

    Domain Name Mishap

[Somehow indievisionmusic.com expired and I didnt get the renewal notice through email. My old hosting company is the designated contact for this website so thus lies the problem. Anyhow, I was lucky enough to call Network Solutions today and get the domain name renewed for.....6 years!!! That's right, this site is reserved for 6 more years! I was freaking out earlier today as you may have guessed, worrying that I lost the domain name to my beloved site that I've run since 2000. It was a stupid mistake and wont happen again at least not for 6 years ;) Thanks for sticking with us :)

    Chuck recommends…

[Here I Come Falling is a Hardcore/Screamo band from Springfield, MO whose number one influence is Jesus. Check them out on their purevolume page.

    New Poll

    [

    New Poll, folks! Enjoy!

    Previous Poll Results:

59% of you said you buy 1-5 cds a month (42 Votes)
13% of you said you buy 5-10 cds a month (9 Votes)
13% of you said you buy 10+ cds a month (9 Votes)
10% of you get your music illegally (7 Votes)
6% of you get your music from Itunes or other legal downloading services (4 votes)
Interesting. At least it’s good to hear that 85% of you still buy traditional cds.

    Advertising

[We have a special deal going on for advertising this month (till the end of June). If you are a band, label, management company, clothing company, etc. and would like to advertise on this site, please contact me and we'll talk: brandon@indievisionmusic.com

Oh no not another unsigned band post……AH HA!

    [

Ours to Alibi have posted two very cool new songs on their MySpace page. These tracks are part of a new 5 song ep the band just recorded and will self release it in a month or so. Stay tuned to their page for further info.

Of Military and Mathmatics also have a new song on Myspace but I’m sure you already knew that, am I right?

This was posted earlier but I thought I’d state it again….
Martyr Reef have a great new song posted on their MySpace page. This song will appear on the band’s new album to be released very soon. We’ll have copies in the store as soon as they are available.

Only one day left until X Men 3 comes out!! Anyone excited for this?

Pirates of the Carribean 2: Dead Men’s Chest isn’t far behind. July 7th people!! According to our previous poll, the majority of you are going to see XMen 3 and Pirates of the Carribean so we’ll have to pay close attention to how those films do at the box office. We wont even mention Superman because none of you want to see it or am I wrong?

    Mmm Mmm Metal

    [
Centurion has a new demo track up, go enjoy!

    Forever Changed “Chapters”

[I have the new album from Forever Changed titled “Chapters” and it is simply breathtaking. Everyone should drop what they’re doing and buy it now. I recommend this cd to everyone who likes good passionate rock n’ roll with uplifting and hopeful lyrics.. If you’re a fan of good music, you’ll want to own this.

    Since Remembered Pre-Order

[Since Remembered, new signing to Blood & Ink Records, has a pre-order up for their new album, “Coming Alive”, for $9.99. You also get a free t-shirt with it. That’s a good deal so check it out!

Blood & Ink is also having a t-shirt blowout sale, with almost 20 shirt designs going for $5 a piece.

    News? What is that?

[I know this doesn't really classify itself as a news topic but I thought I'd throw it out there to help a brother out. Especially considering he is the one who designed this zine site. Anyway, David is selling a big chunk of his cd collection on the internet and any interested buyers can check it out here.

    My Epic Tour Help

[My Epic are in need of some booking help for their tour in July. Most of the dates are on the East Coast/Southeast so if you live in one of the areas they need and you have access to a venue of any kind, please write them on myspace here. This band is going to be getting a lot more exposure very soon and I may be helping……………….

    BBABH

    [

Blessed by a Broken Heart have a new 80’s glam rock flavored track up. Click here. Does anyone remember when Philmore did this?

ZAO have two new tracks up on MySpace.  I’m not liking this at all.

From the ashes of Next in Line…..

[Straight from the ashes of Next in Line comes a new project from frontman, Anthony Catalano. What this project is and when it will come around is a secret I can’t divulge just yet. I’ll keep you all informed, I promise………….

Star Trek..Box Office…Xmen are going to rule you.

    [

This should excite trekkies worldwide…..Apparently Star Trek 11 is being made with Lost producers/directors J.J. Abrahms and Bryan Burk behind the project. No word on script or what the story will be about but stay tuned. Read more about it here.

The Da Vinci Code raked in close to $80million over the weekend to take the top spot (and I thought it was going to flop). The CGI film, Over the Hedge clocked in a second place with close to $40mil. Rounding out the rest of the top 5 were: Mission Impossible:3 $11mil, Poseidon $9mil, and RV $5million. It looks like Poseidon is fast on the track to becoming this summer’s big budget flop. More Box office numbers here.

We all know what film is going to hit number one at the end of this coming weekend—> XMEN 3 THE LAST STAND. Oh yeah. Anyone else going to see it?

    Strike Now

[Strike First Records (Facedown Jr.) is having a great sale in their online store. Right now, you can get any three Strike First full length albums for only $23.99 (personally, I would go for Jesus Wept, Anam Cara, and The Redemption Song).

    DP release date

[Dead Poetic has just announced that their new album Vices will be released on Halloween 2006. (That’s 10/31/06 for those of you who don’t know your holidays.) Maybe you should buy a ton of copies and hand them out instead of candy.

    Mae drops T&N?

[Mae has apparently signed with Capitol Records.

    FSF R.I.P?

[Just when I thought Further Seems Forever was dead, they announce another new show. I’m now officially confused. I thought I attended the “Last Ever Show”. Hmmm. Cornerstone? Click here for the new date.
