Sunday Hot List
[ My weekly Sunday Hot List: Avery Pkwy April 30th, 2006
Brandtson
[ I got the new Brandtson in the mail yesterday and I gave it a listen. It wasn’t what I was expecting though I knew it was coming because of the songs I heard through their Myspace. I get a kick out of that “Earthquakes and Sharks” song because it’s funny. Other than that, the album is filled with bland retro dance rock revival stuff. Very different from the old days of tug at your heartstrings emotional rock. I am a bigger fan of Brandtson’s back catalog than I am of this new one. Though for what it’s worth, the album does have it’s good moments and a few songs that strike up old memories. If you’re into the whole dance pop rock revival stuff, bands like Men Women and Children, Nightmare of You, Head Automatica, etc, then you’ll love this. I give it a 6/10. I give “Trying to Figure Each Other Out” a 10/10. So there you go

[Orders in the Indie Vision store will be delayed a few more days. I just recently got a new computer and I dont have my Quickbooks software installed, it's too old. I need a new disc to install it and then after that, we'll be good to go. So hang tight and I'll get your orders shipped out as soon as I get my new Quickbooks software. If you have any questions, please give me an email at brandon@indievisionmusic.com April 30th, 2006
The Living Dead - Showbread
[A couple of members from Showbread have started a side project called The Living Dead. They have two songs on myspace that you can download. April 30th, 2006
New Tunes Being Prepared
[With Blood Comes Cleansing goes into the studio tomorrow to begin recording their debut for Blood & Ink Records. Dave and Ricky from New Day Awakening (R.I.P.) (their former vocalist is the new lead for Haste The Day) have started a new band. They recruited two members of Everyday At Sinai (R.I.P.) and have dubbed themselves “The Manhattan Project”. No music yet but the link has more info. Man that’s a lot of info. April 30th, 2006
Vote for your favorite unsigned band.
[ We are hosting a vote for your favorite unsigned band. You can vote here. Check out each of the bands, then comment in the forums. I listen to this Christian station on Sirius Satellite radio from time to time and I noticed that they have added "Long Way Down", the Goo Goo Dolls cover from Haste the Day. Kind of a lame single if you ask me. They have also added the new song from Run Kid Run, so I got to hear that too. Good song. This may be old news but I thought I'd post it any way. There is an E-Card for the latest Project 86 tour, click here. This year marks ten years that Project86 has been a band. Wow, time flies. Anberlin begins recording of their new album on July 31st with Aaron Sprinkle again at the boards. [absolutepunk.net] The Umbrella’s new album “Illuminaire” comes out on August 8th. This is Scott from The Lyndsay Diaries new band (well, they’ve been around a while now). Still Remains will be part of the Strhess Tour with Shadows Fall, Poison the Well, and It Dies Today I got this piece of news from Decoymusic.com: April 29th, 2006
Next in Line News
[Next in Line just posted a new demo of a track "Newsense", they were last working on before the split (or did they?). Check it out here. This track is pretty much just a sample. April 29th, 2006

New songs are available on Stratia’s MySpace Download two FM Static songs here Dead Poetic’s new album is titled Vices. Check out Transic Vibe, Prone, and Undying Anthem April 28th, 2006
Exclusive Download from Sophia
[ We now have an exclusive download available from the band Sophia in our “Hot Downloads” section. Click here to get it. Here is the Avery Pkwy website if you’re interested. It pretty much links you to his purevolume and myspace pages. Joel is finishing up some new songs and he’ll have them posted soon. I’ll be handing out some of his demo cds with orders in the store very soon, so stay tuned for that info. Also, look for an exclusive download from Avery Pkwy soon! April 28th, 2006
Flowers are beautiful, and so is the acoustic guitar.
[As I sat in my friend's living room, watching Demon Hunter’s new video for “Undying” play on the television, a thought came to my mind. Lead vocalist Ryan Clark should make an acoustic CD. My friend, who doesn’t like metal, agreed that she would listen to it because he has a great voice that would sound great with an acoustic side-project. I was also thinking Jon Bunch should go on to make an acoustic project now that Further Seems Forever has ended. Chris Carraba did it, why can’t he? Those acoustic tracks that Bunch made with FSF were my favorite songs from him. Speaking of acoustic, check out these artists: April 28th, 2006
Best News All Day!! I am excited, how about you?
[BIG NEWS!! Fireflight have just posted their new single “You Decide” on their MySpace page for your listening pleasure. Bigger yet, you can download it!!! This is crazy and the best thing to come along all day. Click here and listen to the new song and then let the band know what you think. “The Healing of Harms” hits stores nationwide on July 25th. April 28th, 2006
Gasoline Heart and a fun Poll!
[ Gasoline Heart has been filming some live shows that will be used on the enhanced portion of their new disc out August 1st on Mono Vs. Stereo. This is definitely a favorite band of mine and one to watch out for. Look for new songs to be posted soon. By the way, did I mention that this band has former members of: The Kick, My Hotel Year, Dear Ephesus, and Squad 5-0? Awesome! We are doing a fun little poll for favorite unsigned band (out of a pre-determined list). Click here to check it out and cast your vote. Tell your friends. Maybe some labels will take note. This is just the first session of the poll. We'll do another one with different bands next time around. Remember, this is all for fun. Please listen to each band and give them a chance before casting your votes. Support independent music. *Edit: Fixed link to new poll because I screwed up the old one The WOW factor on Underoath: Here is an MTV article on the new Underoath album "Define the Great Line" to be released June 20th on Tooth and Nail. The band apparently re-signed with Tooth and Nail after turning down several offers from Major Labels. [absolutepunk.net] April 28th, 2006
It’s so good, it’s Friday!
[ Brandtson had their song "Earthquakes and Sharks" appear on an episode of The OC last night. Did you hear it? I missed the show because American Inventor was on. "Hello Control" hits stores nationwide this coming Tuesday. Jorge of MusicRefuge.com feels the same way about the Stavesacre record as I do. Why isn't it getting more press? That band deserves so much better. They have such a commercial appeal as a rock band that it's not even funny. They could be big. Click here to visit their website and find out how you can promote the new record (or get it into stores). You can download Anathallo's out of print album "Hymns", by clicking here. Don't worry, this download is "Band approved". [buzzgrinder] The Classic Crime have quite a few new songs posted on their purevolume page. “Albatross” hits stores on May 23rd Far Less will be hitting the road with Madina Lake and Ten Years next month. ZAO have chosen “My Love My Love (We’re back from the dead) as their first single from the new album “The Fear is What Keeps Us Here” to be released in June on Ferret. 4 other songs will appear online starting May 15th. Of Military and Mathmatics have some shows lined up. I’ll say it again, you need to check this band out. Click here for some songs. These guys are unsigned and recently recorded new songs which I believe are on a self released cd(like alot of other good bands we’ve been covering lately…indie!) A download from Sophia should be up by this weekend. Look for a feature and new download from the band Ours to Alibi early next week. Interviews with both bands are being written as we speak. Right Len? For you local So. Cal. fans, check out Plug It Promotions. They sponsor/promote a TON of local shows in the area and they have a full list of every show in the area on their Myspace. For Friday, I recommend you check out the band THRUSH. Former members of Craig’s Brother/Next in Line/Too Bad Eugene can be a good thing. These guys don’t tour but a label should put out their record anyway.

Avery Pkwy, Ours to Alibi, and Sophia
[ Three groups we’ve talked alot about have PureVolume pages. I thought i’d link them up. April 27th, 2006
DC TALK Tribute
[ Somehow I got on the Dc Talk email list and I’m not sure why. Anyway, you can now listen to every song on the DC Talk tribute by clicking here. Wow, The Showdown sound like Metallica. When this album first came out, it was a bit behind the times. I’d rather not say anymore… Dogwood has some sweet rarieties posted up on their MySpace, check them out here. April 27th, 2006
Cries of the Past
[Hmmm... I don't suppose this is official. April 27th, 2006
Flyleaf Music Vids and More.
[ Flyleaf has two music videos, one for “I’m So Sick” and the other for “Breathe Today” up in their multimedia section on the previous link. Also, this is a bit dated, but check out their E-Card Alaskan band Faceless has two new demos up here Become the new James Bond, well sort of… Thanks Relevant! April 27th, 2006
Underoath, Dogwood, Stavesacre, and the junk known as…
[ Yes that's right kiddies, Billboard has written an article about the latest Underoath disc, read here [musicrefuge] Dogwood has a bunch of dates lined up, check out their Myspace for info. Josh should be sending me new music soon My favorite band in the world, Superchic[k] has signed a major record deal with Columbia. Why oh why. Some good bands struggle while (insert negative remarks) like this get signed. Columbia didn’t do such a good job with Acceptance and Ataris, it’ll be same for this band. Remember the Skillet and Pillar deals? Yeah. I haven’t seen any good promotion for the Stavesacre album, it’s really a shame. They deserved so much better. They should just go back to Tooth and Nail, hey if Project86 can do it…. That’s my opinion and what’s it worth, am I right? ha. With the break up of Further Seems Forever will a reunion of Strongarm grace us? I really hope so. Though I have heard that Jonathan Bunch will be touring with a member of FSF as a solo act. For me, that’ll be a good thing too, I really like his vocals. (Sensefield anyone?) Akissforjersey is going out on tour in May, mostly dates on the East Coast. We have a lot of east coast visitors so make sure to check this band out. Eleventyseven is featured on the main page of PureVolume, but most of you know that already right? Their debut “In The Land of 90’s Pop Punk” will release on May 16th. I’m full of it today aren’t I? ha.

Techno/Electronica..DINWH..Other News Goodness
[ MewithoutYou just finished recording their third album for Tooth and Nail with Brad Wood and it will be out sometime this fall. The band is heading out on tour with Thursday for 22 dates. Click here for the dates and other info. [absolutepunk.net] Mike Herrera of Mxpx and Seth from Watashi Wa both make an appearance on the new Gasoline Heart album. The album releases on August 1st through Mono Vs. Stereo. Death is Not Welcome Here are still looking for dates to play here stateside in the summer (Yeah, they’re from the UK). If any of you can help them with a show or two, please get in contact with the band here: stevo@deathisnotwelcomehere.com or contact them via their MySpace here. They’ll play any venue that will host them. They are a great band by the way. One of our news posters, Quincy, has a garage rock band called Sorry About the Catfight and you can listen to them here. A user in our forum brought up an interesting issue to me that reminded me of the past. What happened to the good techno/electronica artists? You know, the ones that used to be on NSoul Records. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Joy Electric, Echoing Green, and Andy Hunter. Am I forgetting any? List any artists you know of in the comments section along with a link. April 27th, 2006
Devotionals
[I thought I'd drop a line about a new section in our forums. We have now started a Devotionals area of the forums that is being written and handled by Bridget. You can read those here. Stop in and tell her hi! April 26th, 2006

Movie News for Wednesday + Other Interesting News
[ Here are some short movie news snippets: from Killermovies.com: Star Trek 11 will be filmed soon. JJ Abrams (Mission Impossible 3, Alias) will produce the picture slated for a 2008 release. Brendan Fraser joins the cast of “Journey to the Center of the Earth” based on the popular Jules Verne classic. The movie is said to be produced in 3D. Al Pacino joins the cast of Ocean’s Thirteen, the third installment of the popular Ocean’s series of films starring actors such as George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and more. In surprising news, Silent Hill topped last weekend’s box office taking in over $20 Million. I didn’t think anyone would see this film seeing as it is another video game to movie adaptation. Scary Movie 4 was a close second with $16 million and The Sentinel came in third with over $15 million. The film stars “24″ actor, Keifer Sutherland, and Michael Douglas. To see the full box office chart, click here. I caught wind recently of a movie named The Devil Wears Prada coming out this summer with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. What does this mean for the band The Devil Wears Prada? Hmmm.. These news bits from MusicRefuge.com (Thanks Jorge): Mxpx have recorded an original song for the new 3DRealm’s game (Duke Nukem, etc) PREY. The song will be featured in the game and available for download from Directsong.com only. The old singer of Point of Recognition has his own site now. You can read up on what he’s been doing lately. Read here. Absolutepunk.net is hosting an album leak from the band Transition for their latest Floodgate Record’s release “Get There” Listen to the songs here You can also stream the new album from Run Kid Run here (new songs will be posted each week leading up to the release) In other news, yesterday the new Goo Goo Dolls and Taking Back Sunday cds dropped. Yeah I know this isn’t related to our site but I thought I’d drop a line because I’m going to buy them April 26th, 2006

Sender..Pennylane Reunion..Blessed by a Broken Heart
[ Sender, the project of ex-Pennylane member, Laine, has a preview track of a new song up on MySpace. Click here to check it out. Breaking News…. Pennylane is going on a reunion tour this summer. No word on if those dates will include the other non-Hawaii states or not. Go here for more info. This is still one of my favorite bands and they so should have made it big! We still have like 5 copies of their debut on CD if anyone wants them. See the store. Or you can always download the album here. For those of you up north in the Seattle area, Martyr Reef has a bunch of shows coming up. I encourage you to go out and support this band. Click here for dates. Stardumb, the company founded by pro bodyboarder, Kyle Maligro, has some cool new swag in their store. Check it out here. Blessed by a Broken Heart should be signed by a big time label.
