The Dingees on MySpace
[ It’s funny, I sit back and think about the old school Tooth and Nail days thinking about former bands and what happened to them and it brings back a flood of memories. You know what’s crazy is that there are still remaining T&N bands left over from the 90’s. Though there are few, they are still around. Stavesacre, Project86, Stretch Arm Strong, Craig’s Brother, Starflyer 59, Joy Electric, Dogwood, and Mxpx. These bands have been at it for a long time and it’s amazing that they are still around. Though only three of the above are still with the Nail. The Dingees are now on MySpace. It appears that this page is actually run by a band member. Facedown Records Update
ALove For Enemies has wrapped up writing their new album. Recording begins April 4th. I would be looking for a mid to late summer release. Bloodlined Calligraphy will be touring with the infamous lady metallers, Kittie from Apr. 7 - 13. That’s a good tour. Well at least for exposure’s sake. Bloody Sunday has been lying low doing some writing and “to get our priorities in order, and remember why this band was started, and that is for the glory of Jesus Christ.” Some big announcements are coming soon. A few Bloody Sunday members have formed the groupTidal Wave. It features John (B.S. guitarist), Greg (B.S. drummer) and Keith (former B.S. vocalist) playing bass.. They also have “awesome” news which I’m assuming means a label is interested. Don’t be surprised if Strike First picks them up. Flee The Seen’s debut album “Doubt Becomes The New Addiction” releases March 14th. They’re already creating a buzz and are doing some extensive touring soon with Desole (Abacus). Inked In Blood have filled the vacant lead guitar and bass positions and are doing shows again including the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. xLooking Forwardx is on tour for another month. They will be doing sections with Counting the Days (Strike First), Brutal Fight (Strike First) and a few shows with Jesus Wept (Strike First) and No Innocent Victim (Facedown). Nodes Of Ranvier are on tour for the next month and a half or so on the ‘Of Love And Lunacy Tour’ with Still Remains, If Hope Dies and Demiricous. Thankfully this tour is hitting stops all over and I’ll be able to hit a few. I highly recommend you do the same. No Innocent Victim have once again announced just a few shows this time in the Midwest in April. Seventh Star shot a video for the track “The Seventh Star”. This should pop up online soon. War Of Ages in case you haven’t heard officially moved up to Facedown Records. I believe most of us saw this coming so it may not be “news”. However, they will be back in the studio in the next few months to record another album to be released probably mid to late summer. February 26th, 2006

FSF Kicked out of Canada
[ Further Seems Forever was kicked out of Canada and not permitted to enter. This is taken from their MySpace bulletin–> “Imagine you leave Fort Lauderdale at 6 AM fly to Houston. Run to your plane and fly to Calgary Canada. You arrive only to deal with a Power tripping Immigration lady who freaks out about a minor problem with the way you filled out a form. The promotor tries to reason with her and her boss for an hour and she won’t budge. She files papers to have you removed from Canada or go to jail! She also informs you that you are banned from Canada for 1 year under penalty of arrest and a $5,000 fine if you try to return. She escorts you and your band members to a flight to Denver and then we wait 4 hours to catch a flight to Fort Lauderdale. We arrive home at 5 AM twenty four hours after the nightmare started. We apologize but it was out of our control. We are going to fight the ban and try to make up the shows.” Further Seems Forever February 25th, 2006

Indiana Jones Strikes Back
[ As we reported on early last year, Spielberg is moving ahead with a fourth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise. Absolutepunk.net offered this link to an article on the matter. The Fold “This Too Shall Pass” released yesterday on Tooth and Nail Records. Check the e-card out here and pick this album up today! Check out this band, A Place Tomorrow According to Absolutepunk.net, The New Tragic not only has multiple label interest but their debut album might also be produced by Pharrell of The Neptunes and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park fame. This is still speculation. The band features Dallas Taylor of Maylene and The Sons of Disaster/Ex-Underoath and Phil, formerly of From First to Last. Don’t ask whether these guys are a Christian band because honestly I dont know. I’m only reporting on it because it features Dallas. I really hope this doesn’t spell the end of Maylene because that is such a better band. Quick and the Dead have label interest. Stay tuned. Nothing much new has happened on the Kings to You front which is why I haven’t reported anything lately. The band still has a deal on the table but it appears they haven’t signed it. I totally think they should go for it but that’s up to them I guess. We’ll keep you posted on anything new that happens. February 22nd, 2006

New CDs
[ I got a bunch of new cds in the mail today. I got a package from T&N with The Fold, Sullivan, Far Less. I’ll have to listen to those for sure. That’s not all…I also got the pre-release copy of the new Quick and the Dead album. 13 tracks and it’s enhanced with videos, pics, live footage, and lyrics. Oh wow. I also got a cd from The Reception and I’m jamming to it right now. These guys are amazing. The packaging and studio production on this independent release is just as good as anything on a bigger label. Awesome band.Oh and to the kid(s) that think we mention Quick and the Dead too much..tough luck, it ain’t going to stop anytime soon So how is everyone? Two more weeks and my 8 year wedding anniversary will arrive. Wow, time flies fast. It’s been an amazing 8 years and I couldn’t ask for a more beautiful person, inside and out, as my wife. Marriage is the best thing that ever happened to me. I pray that you youngsters will find the perfect spouse and that you’ll have years of blessed happiness and matrimony. Time to go jam to some new tunes…. February 21st, 2006
