    Devastation…PETA Stop

[It's unfortunate the circumstances that surround the people of LA, MS, and AL. There are people dying and others suffering. You can do your part to help bydonating here

On a side note, the “Christian Market” targeted PETA ad sickens me. Yeah, tossing bible verses in with your propaganda really helps sell the cause doesn’t it? Helping animals is one thing but pouring out guilt upon those that choose to eat meat is another. Why don’t certain magazines focus their attention upon the ASPCA, Humane Societies, and local animal shelters instead?

Read this in depth interview with the band Waking Ashland at HMmagazine.com

Check out and add Affix Bayonets to your friends list.

Check out The June Echo featuring former Incomplete member, Terry Burton.

    Man Alive rules the day!

[I am simply floored by the new Man Alive record. Not since the start of this year has a record so impressed me as this one clearly has. Addictive harmonies, sing a long chants, Soaring melodies and one hit after another. This explosive Militia Group debut will have a fan made out of each of you very soon. Go pick up Man Alive “Open Surgery” in stores nationwide on September 6th. Yeah, of course they’ll be our next feature, like it wasn’t any more obvious :)

    [From RockforLife.org :
    Pro-life Memorial Day
    October 3rd 2005

So what can you do on Pro-life Memorial Day (Oct. 3) to remember the innocent lives lost to abortion? Here are three ideas:

    1. Gather for prayer at the flagpole before school starts
    2. Stand PEACEFULLY at your local Planned Parenthood abortion mill or other abortion business
    3. Arrange a candlelight vigil at some common gathering area (like a public park). Join together from 7:30-8:30 p.m. your local time.

    Christafari, Christian Reggae, is back

News at random: Everyone knows Jessica Simpson as (insert comment here) a “pop diva” of sorts, but what many didn’t know is that she once had a Christian CD out before she had even signed to a major label.

    God Bless!

    Busy Busy

[Only 6 days until the release of Spoken "Last Chance to Breathe". Make sure to buy this album on August 30th and support the band.

Our news section is on a brief hiatus. I’m busy (really busy) here at work and have nothing new to share with you. I wish I did but I’m news-lacking this week. Stay tuned because one of our news posters will update hopefully soon.

On a side note, we are holding a new contest for a compilation put out by Word of Mouth Records. It features a bunch of really cool music from a wide range of bands such as Adelaide, Roosevelts, Moneen, Sides of the North, Down to Earth Approach, Mending Point and more. As with past contests, all you have to do to enter is click on my name and send me an email: brandon@indievisionmusic.com Even if you signed up in the past, you are still welcome to sign up again for this contest. Who knows maybe you’ll win? A free button and sticker comes to the winner plus the cd.

    Chuck Interviews Emery

[Our news guy Chuck recently interviewed the band Emery. You can read that by clicking here .

Apparently four members of the band Terminal have stepped down leaving just the lead singer to carry on with the band name.

Albums are on the way into the store from: Fireflight, The Reception, Every New Day, Dear Augustine. Make sure to pick one up when they become available. Any independent bands that might be reading this, make sure to email me about carrying your product. Christian Artists only please.

Post war coverage(Purple Door from the view of the hardcore pit)

[Hello, this war correspondent Cory Simpson for IVM News. This weekend (August 19th and 20th 2005) was quite a battle. Precipitation wasn't a factor this year but blazing heat made the mountain a tough opponent. Friday night a gentle breeze was in the air but wouldn't be felt as the pit flared up for Pillar. But I'm ahead of myself. Before Pillar closed the night The Myriad, Me Without You and Blindside warmed up the crowd. All the bands did an excellent job especially Blindside, who actually got to play after being rained out for years. They pulled out King of the Closet from their c.d. A Thought Crushed My Mind and had Josh Dies of Showbread for guest vocals.
But in the pit for Pillar is when things really got good. The pit action was your standard rock’n'roll jump into each other fest but eventually became a coalition of circle pits and hardcore dancing thanks to some awesome hardcore kids who wanted more than to just jump on each other.

Saturday is when the battle really heated up. They blazing heat made everyone a little tired but when Stretch Arm Strong hit the HM Stage after lunch time everyone was ready for a good time. The circle pits flared and the hardcore dancing was awesome. Fists were in the air. Windmills, floor punches, and spin kicks were everywhere. However, everyone was there for each other; when ever someone fell 6 hands would go to down to pick them back up. Sing-a-longs were a must and Stretch definitely was the climax of the HM stage IMO.

5 P.M.: Having an hour and a half of downtime I went back to car to get a much needed nap in the AC. As soon as 5 rolled around it was back to the Rock For Life Stage to support the well deserved band xLookingForwardx. Though the stage was humble; the small crowd was close together and knew every word to the songs and we all danced and sang along.

9:50 P.M.: After seemed like an eternity of sound checks, Relient K got on stage and started their set. The usual pitters weren’t there and it was set of new people that just wanted to run into each other. Attempts at circle pits were made by the few of us left but the insurgents (mainly 14 year old girls and kids decked out in Disturbed and God Smack gear) fought back and eventually won. Relient K mainly played stuff from MMHMM and Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right… and made use of their keyboard and banjo.

That is all for now, more news at 11.

    The Reception..Another Brandon Repeat

[I'll repeat another earlier news post about this band:
The Reception. Listen to them, they’re a great unsigned act.

The Elms have inked a deal with Universal

Scratch that….How about a FREE Online Compilation through Indie Vision Music? Would that be awesome or what? We’d get some artwork done, find 15-20 bands and put it together as Hearts Bleed Passion Vol. 2. It’d be offered free online. Does that sound cool or lame?
